I'm just wondering where everyone is coming from. We have had a steady stream of new members coming in and I would love to know how you found this forum.

I think it was Stryder from sciforums... during the first outtage. I'm steadily making The Science Forum my newest home.... might even have to make a link to it on my homepage.
Google. ; )
For myself a friend told me of it. So I came to see. Once here I found a home. Love the way the forum is shaping up.
DMOZ.
Before this second crash of sci-forums, I remembered someone mentioning this site in a thread there. When the "database error" happened a week or so ago at sci-forums, I used google to find this one. It's turning into a better and better site too. I think if sci-forums never comes back, I'll be happy here. (In)sanity, you are making a great effort to make this a good home. Thanks.
Thanks, I'll keep trying. I'm sure we'll have some conflicts and quirks along the way. Part of the process I suppose.
Hey, one thing I did like at sci-forums, just so you know, is a link to threads started by a member, in their profile. Under where you link to all posts by that member. That way, you can get a quick overview of what someone thinks and is interested in. Might be a lot of work for you, but I thought I would mention it, in case noone else has.
Yah, there are some mods for phpBB that will allow this. I just need to get around to it.Originally Posted by Cottontop3000
I found here through an Email from Invert Nexus when Sciforums broke down, so I guess I will take the option "A friend told me".
(In)Sanity,
Dreamwalker,
Where you been?
No. Not twit.
Tuit.
To it.
A round to it.
He wanted a round tuit. Now he's got one. Well, a picture of one, anyway.
Well, it may sound old by now, but I googled Sciforums and the thread "Temporary Sciforums" showed up, so I came to have a look-see.
I signed up and find it a nice place here. I like what you do with the site, (In)Sanity.![]()
I've not been posting a lot yet, but that is gonna change.
Looking forward to participating a bit more on here.
i found the link on sciforums
I googled sciforums when it was down and came here.
I'm a refugee from Space Dot Com. Silylene passed on the existence of this board to me from Steve.
That's probably all the explanation needed, if you're familiar with the place. After a while there, you feel like a frog in a blender...it just goes on and on and on...

I googled it, and thankfully found everything I was looking for in this forum.
Keep on with the good job![]()
I love this site. Since i always loved science.
I was the first member and initially set up the board, so I chose "Referred by a Friend" which would be (In)Sanity.
I was just thinking, this place isn't just about science, it seems to be half science and half-science fiction. I love both, and it seems most of the people here do, too.
So what answer should I put![]()
I found this site on google after being kicked out o scienceforums.net for not agreeing with one of the modes after being a member for all of ten minutes. If you want the whole story just private message me about it. Its been about four months and I am still mad about it cause they just kicked me out cause he warned me. But I did nothing wrong, honest.
Well I needed to find about this Physicist that I had no name for...
i googled, found a forum, went on it, but there were too many damn people! i like how here there isnt 6000 posts a day (literaly!).
and (In)Sanity, who is that "admin" person who was the first guy to sign up? your 3rd on the list, but dont you own the site?
Admin is just the stock "user" that comes with the forum. You have to be able to log in to mange things. I guess I could make "it" go away at this point if needed.Originally Posted by chamilton333

hey (In)Sanity, this is a really really great science forum.....keep up the good work, dun let it die..... 8)
good luck and hope that it'll drive more science nerds into crazy mode by registering and stay active at this forum :P
Well in anews channel there was one program showing the different types of sites for different purposes. I got it from there
You must be a necromancer @_@. As this topic has long since been deaaaaaaaader than a skeleton frame. >.>
does that still count for stickies, most dead topics fall to a grave at the bottom of the topics list or a few pages over.Originally Posted by Jeremyhfht

Well, "deader" is mostly a word for sayings. like "deader than a door nail". It has no realistic application, but it's mostly only there for certain phrases.
Fair comment but there's enough crap in the dictionary - even Bic Mac appears in some...
dictionaries have long had a problem with adding words that aren't real words. Instead of "redirecting" them to the actual words (ergo, redirecting "bling" to "lavish" so the stupid people gain more vocabulary), they just add words that sound stupid.Originally Posted by Megabrain

None of the options on that list really describe how I got here. This place is the Official Sciforums Refuge. But, I still like to come here.
Well we can un-sticky this topic now, it's deader then those lost brain cells I once had![]()
