Thread: Seeing Double

Never noticed until today. The word 'forum' appears twice, back to back, at the top of the index. Why Forum Forum Index instead of Forum Index? Can we consult an English professor on this one? Would it be more correct to say Science Forum's Forum Index? Never have I ever seen the words forum forum together like that. Man, I've got to get a life.

LOL. Who's stupider, the fool, or the fool who follows the fool ? I would also like to know. Shouldn't it simply be ...... Science forum index.

I think its correct the way it is. "The Science Forum" is the name of the place.... "Forum index" is where you are...

For example, if the place was called "The Science Digest" then it would say "The Science Digest Forum Index".

I still think Forum Index is a possesion of The Science Forum therefore an apostrophe s is required after the first Forum. If you pause slightly after the first Forum then I think it sounds like you may be right.
