    Congratulations to the winners!

Now we just need to find a willing martyr to provide as a sacrifice to appease the mod gods and spare us the rod.

I beg your pardon, but you are doing it wrong, lol.

The correct phrase, coined by myself, is 'Deploy the duck'.

Thank you for the appointment (I think).

I have yet to receive my robe, wand and flying broom along with the book of spells (for banishment, transformation etc.) but no doubt it is merely delayed in the post.

Okay, I found the book of spells. I will read it after my shift so everyone has several hours of grace, but only from myself. No doubt the gentlemen have already read the manual.

Their response will probably be 'who needs the manual?'..

Then they put it all together and wonder why there are 6 screws left, which they quickly declare are obviously spares. Put books on the shelves and the shelves fall down, whereupon they declare the product faulty and that they have to "fix it"..

And on and on it goes.

Since the members who voted for me are too numerous to sum up, I am just going to thank all of you for giving me this opportunity!
I will try to do my best to serve this community as Moderator.

You may or may not thank us at a later date, depending on how you cope with your new responsibilities. My congratulations (and condolences) to the three newly appointed moderators.

I'm torn between congratulating you guys and apologizing to you for nominating you. Hope you enjoy your position and it doesn't cause more little gray hairs to sprout.

congrats CES, Mr.D and Zade. Just be yourself as you were. As we know you from your posts, if you change the purpose of voting will die. I expect the power will not corrupt you.

I.e. the members voted for us because (or despite!) they got to "know" us.
And that gives them a right to expect certain behaviours and attitudes with regard to the future.

John Galt said that what was really needed was more moderators. So he has got his wish.

Also good news about the site being set for renewal.

I am pleased that all the new mods seem to be happy with their new job.

Scheherazade I do hope you won't be taxed by accepting this position here for I know you are a busy person with much on your table. I am glad though to have you as a mod for I know you will do a very thoughtful and understanding job. Congrats to all three of you and good luck.
