After my last ban I am here again and decided to visit a few topics that seemed of interest to me. What I found was others being banned and topics being locked.

One of the usuals was defending the US which I will too, if given the opportunity, although I wish we were a more peaceful live and let live democracy, but freedom of speech is not allowed on this forum at all. Now ban me again, and prove my point for me again.

i don't think you understand how most forums work. this forum is privately owned. you asked to be a member and were allowed. but like being invited into some else's home, you can't say or do anything you please. the owners of this forum have the right to show you the door the same as if it was their own house.

BTW, you've been given a LOT of leeway by the admins and mods here.

Mission was accomplished concerning Bliss weaver, not comparing this forum to USA - US is a democracy - can use some work though. Snowden was not allowed free speech, this is wrong to me, but this forum not allowing free speech is no better to me.

I do understand how forums work and I have one of my own. That does not mean I will not champion freedom of speech there or here or anywhere.

it's simple really. this is a free country and the internet gives you the opportunity to go and set up your own forum. that way you can make the rules.

Why not? It might be fun.
And I bet it would only take one post for me to get banned.

I invite to talk with me there where I and you can be free to discuss as wished. (For any of you) You are very bold here where you know the mods or admins or what not will protect you. This will be level ground, if you want to have at it.

this is typical of your posting. you misinterpret everything. the mods and admins here are not protecting me -- not even a little bit. if i get out of line, they will tell me about it, same as you. if i continue to disobey their rules, they will suspend me, just as you have been suspended. (twice i think). the mods and admins are not 'picking on you'. you think like that and it comes thru in your posts. before each time you were suspended the mods/admins warned you about your behavior. you ignored them. you were suspended. there is no conspiracy here -- that is in your own mind.

here's some advice (constructive criticism) i gave another member here shortly before she was suspended. it is good advice for you too. actually it is good advice for any one, myself included.

you need to take some time and try to determine why members here align themselves against you. if many members have responded negatively to your posting, which i believe is the case. then maybe there is a reason for it. look, if you only had problems with one member then it might be explained away as not your fault, but there have been many different members who find your posting questionable. you would be doing yourself a favor to study why some members here (and some of the mods/admins) have responded negatively to your posts and why you were suspended. they can't all be wrong. sometimes we have to look fairly at ourselves to discover that (just maybe) we were wrong -- not them.

If any of you have your own forum or place where you want to meet on level ground, tell me. I cannot speak straight and honest here and not get banned, and that is fact proven.

I was never banned? Dude, lay off the drugs. This forum lays bans on people, like a hen lays eggs. The hen's eggs are however fertile, this forum's bans are infertile.

yes you were banned. we all know this. twice. for breaking the rules. it is that simple.

you don't get it do you? there are rules in this house. rules made by the owners of this house. you disobey them. they show you the door.

Like I say, man, if you really want to talk freely, this is not the place. As you said they have banned me and others before and after, and many times. That is their gig, but it is not mine. The topic is about free speech, not how to ban people.

You have eight post in this thread in slightly over three hours so far, and it still isn't clear what questions you have on free speech that ties into the social science of psychology. Would you like to rectify that?

Not really. I didn't even understand your question. I said I think very plainly that this forum does not allow for free speech, and my own and many other's bans testify quite empirically of the evidence.

Galileo would have been banned forever here I think.

i know that you think that forum rules don't apply to you but you are violating one of the site rules in every other post you make. this is an FYI so when you get suspended you will know why and won't be whining about "free speech" violations.

Chuck, like I said there is not freedom of expression here as indicated in the rules you have posted which obviously do not allow for such.

I've politely pointed out and asked if you have questions regarding the topic of free speech with regards to the social science of psychology twice so far, and somehow you felt that the above quote is an appropriate response to a member of the forum who have taken the time to engage you in conversation in hopes to steer the thread in a direction that might add something to the psychology subforum. Have you anything of substance to add at all to justify the location of this thread here?

that is typical of her responses. she does that with everyone. it doesn't matter how much effort the member puts into a post for her. she doesn't care. she doesn't learn.

instead of generalized non-specific whining about 'free speech', why don't you just state what you want to discuss on this forum? what exactly is it that you want to talk about? just state topics (in one sentence) you want to discuss. don't get into any detail.

you are impossible to talk to. dozens of members and several moderators/admins have the same opinion of your posting as I do. but according to you we're all wrong and you are right.

you have been asked to explain your 'free speech' infringements but you won't do that.

I've allowed you to waste enough of my time. I tried. I'm done.

one last thing. and this concerns 'free speech'. I would love to post an ad hom rant about you but I am not going to do that, for two reasons: (1) it lessens me and (2) it is against the site rules.

You see, you aren't the only one whose 'free speech' is limited on this forum. The difference is that I am not complaining. I know that the rules are necessary, especially on a science forum.

Whatever. Scooby, tell me of your your point? Do you wish me to tell you of your point? I prefer you tell of it, but this is your decision to make. At this point in time on this psychology topic, I have some ideas of what people are here all on about, it is a psychology topic, correct?

Chucknorium's absolutely right. You've had plenty of time, almost 5 hours, and ample comment opportunities, up to 44 as I write this, to show ...

    1. what you meant in your OP ... and

    2. how it does (or doesn't) fit into the Behaviour-Psychology forum.

So far you've done virtually nothing. Even scoobydoo1's gentle reminders that you were the one who put the OP into the Behaviour- Psychology arena got replies from you, #30 and #33, indicating to everyone that you hadn't thought about it as a psychology or behavioural matter for a single second after you'd selected it. You said you didn't even understand what he was talking about, for pity's sake. To me, it looks as though it was selected as a target because you had - like everybody else - already seen that putting such topics into a forum like Site Feedback instantly brings the question of the Guidelines into play.

This topic is moved to Site Feedback.
