    Hi Moderators,

I have the problem of this forum not recognizing the return key from some devices.

So; I type a reply, and lay it out neatly. But when I upload it, the software sometimes ignores the return commands, and puts all the sentences and paragraphs together.

It seems to depend on which browser one uses, or perhaps which PC?

This is written on an HP tower PC through Windows Explorer, and is clearly working, yet my HP PC at home doesn't transmit the return command to you using Explorer, yet it does if I use FireFox.

My recently purchased iPad won't work either.

Can you shed any light onto this problem?

    Thanks

    OB

When you look at the comment box, look at the line of buttons across the top.

For many people, clicking on the very first one (Source Mode) can solve those problems. Well, I've seen the admins recommend it a couple of times and the members found it helpful.

    It's worth a try.

I have that issue on my old iPad 1 as well, the line feed shows in edit mode, but when I press "post", the return is not being recognized, and everything ends up as a wall of text. It's not a biggy for me since I wouldn't use the iPad for posting anyway, but it's something I did notice...

Thanks, both. I had no idea what those buttons did. I will try it next time.

    (This PC works, obviously)

What versions of Internet Explorer do you use?

As for iPads, I am not a fan of those. They use Safari browser if I am not mistaken. Perhaps installing Opera browser would solve the problem on those devices as well.

Don't worry about it...I couldn't be bothered typing posts on an iPad, I just use it to read and browse. I am using Safari on my Mac too, and never had an issue there, so it's all good

For me it worked fine with IE in Windows 7, and I had to change to a different browser when I got a computer with Windows 8.

Sir Harold, I have 7 and Vista on the two machines here......worked actually for awhile...and I am not a Safari or Gold fan...I am an IE girl...but doesn't work for me on this machine....I checked settings but didn't see any way to change it. It also appears others have this difficulty.
