Can we please have the suspension lifted on Neverfly and Seagypsy as this place isn't quite the same without them around.

Why would they be suspended anyway?

They've only got 6 days to go anyway.

I second that and also missed why they were banned.....

Can someone spill the beans and say what exactly they did that was a suspension magnitude offense?

I think it's less important to question why they were banned, and concentrate more on their swift return.

Ok yes they may only have a few days left but it would certainly be offering an olive branch if their suspension could be hastened, which would be a big step forward in the spirit of cooperation. Then hopefully all this business can be set aside and everyone can just get on having fun posting without the agro, at present SG isn't happy and probarbly won't return. Which would be a real shame, so I just hope at least some compromise can be reached.

They were given two weeks off after they went on a string of personal attacks against other members (and one mod) and ignored warnings to cool it in a recent political thread about gun control.

They'll be allowed back in a few days--returning will be their choice.

There is no doubt that both of them add value to the site, when they are not causing trouble and that is the problem. Since I came here at the end of 2007, I have never come across anyone who has been involved in as many disputes, personal vendettas and griping about mod decisions. Had it not been for the value they add, they would have been gone a LONG time ago. Having been absent for a while, I have been newly dismayed by the troubles they cause and vendettas involving other, often usually well respected and generally mild mannered members upon my return.

While they might feel that their actions are justified, the fact of the matter is that from my perspective their conduct has started to shift from being outweighed by the value they add to being outweighed by the problems they cause.

So after the last straw in the gun control thread where they both reacted badly to John Galt's involvement, I decided to give them two weeks off to think about their continued participation here. They have both emailed me multiple times afterwards expressing their discontent and showing indigence towards their suspension. However, we have spoken sufficiently in the past about their conduct for me to want to engage in yet another he said she said debate.

Like I said, the ball is in their court now. I really wish they take a positive step towards being less confrontational. I don't want to lose them either, but at this point I have to think about what is best for the forum. That is after all what I am supposed to do as an admin.

I will let their suspensions stand until it runs out.
