Try to start some threads in the 'people' section to see what the response is. Linguistics is a very interesting science, but it's not the biggest one out there  So you'll need to gather some 'critical mass' first.

I prefer fewer to more forums. I tend to click on 'new postings' and the more forums, the more clutter.

I respect, however, any new forum than members might want.

Curious as to how most click on to this site. Do you scan particular forums or go to new postings?

A linguistics forum would indeed tickle my fancy. If we get the go ahead, I might be able to chip in for a good contractor. We're going to need a large open space with good lighting; also, some decorative architectural features might be conducive to the learning environment needed for great linguistic debates.

For record keeping I propose that we hire a scribe to copy the manuscripts and store them in the library; which reminds me, we'll need a library. If the library rests on the south end of the building with windows on all three sides, then we can maximize the natural lighting and minimize energy costs...

Oh, golly gee... so many ideas. This is going to be a great project! Anyone else have any cool ideas for the new—maybe—linguistics forum?

Yea, i hope if there was going to be a new forum it would be a politics forum.

Personally i start from the top and work my way down the page. This however seems to make me miss the occasional thread.
