Have you been put on the 'miserable-users' list? If so this can mean that everything you do is deliberately slow.

So I'm wondering if such a thing exists here? So that people with different opinions are "worked out" of this forum because they aren't the same way thinking as those in charge?

No, there's nothing like that that I know of. No, if we don'l like you, we'll just give you the boot. We're not sneaky about it.

Then again, maybe I'm a miserable user too, because I'm having problems accessing the site, too.

I am not posting this a third time.

Put me in a new "miserable-users list" ...
(probably the remainder 999 didn't read about this, I was simply outraged a bit deeper than this,
btw : were you or marnix by any chance among the villains who opened the list, or was it just donald duck and mickey monkey who did it?)
    ....and have a good day."

Found this post that gives mentions to one, but I thought they'd scrapped it.

august 2011 would have been the period when bunsen and beaker were admin of this site
a few rather vociferous members (myself amongst them) had been given an "account from hell" where access time to the site was exceptionally slow, presumably as an encouragement for us to depart for other shores

so that means that if you know what you're doing in IT-land and you feel so inclined what you describe is possible
however, things have changed a lot under the current ownership (for the better, that is), and i'm not aware that any such underhand tricks have been attempted since ownership changed hands

But, what you say is incredible, no? Why go to the trouble of trickily messing with the system, possibly introducing serious, regrettable unexpected consequences, when quietly eliminating the "disparagables" without anyone else's knowledge would be so much more quickly erffective? jocular

    This is embarrassing.

As an Admin and the tech guy, it's one of my responsibilities to keep the servers up and make sure the site loads fast all the time. For a couple of hours the server was experiencing pretty high load and that made the site very slow for all. The site might continue to load slow for a couple hours every day for the next few days, or until I shift it to a better server.

We don't have 'miserable users' feature here at TSF.

let me repeat : what happened under bunsen and beaker is in the past, and is not a current feature
besides, if everyone experienced similar problems (and it would appear that's the case), surely it's clear that this is a server load problem, and nothing that has been targetted at individual members

Every single forum I've ever been on has down time on occasion. Frankly, I don't think you have anything to be embarrassed about.

Temperamental technology got me flagged at another forum as being a 'suspicious entity', lol, and I had to contact the site administration to clarify that I was not such an entity. The irony was that it was a new anti-spam software that even targeted their own moderators so it was soon retired from service. Usually if I am having any difficulty getting through, I attribute it to our own ISP monopoly in Yukon and heavy usage, heavy traffic at the forum or forum downtime, none of which are events of great frequency or duration.

I can't say that I have ever heard of or even contemplated such a thing as a 'miserable-users list'.

Well, I am a forum user. I am also quite often miserable. And when I've had a few I list to one side. Does that qualify me?
