Is there any way at all to attach a text file, as in "hello.txt" or do you just paste the article in the topic. I'm familiar with Vbulletin but not Phpbb.
I have a neat article from Lee Smolin...

It would be reasonable to assume that a sensible question like this could be promptly answered by a site moderator. This just illustrates the weakness of reasonable assumptions.
Help!!!
The thing is, I think the forum doesn't host files. If you post a link then the file is hosted elsewhere, but posting or attaching the file means hosting it on the forum server. So I'm not sure, but this could well be impossible. In that case try to find a website that offers free file hosting (like photobucket for pictures, must be something for normal files as well).
A couple of sites:
http://www.ripway.com/
Ripway requires registration and there is a bandwidth limit of 25 MB daily and a 30 MB upload limit.
https://s18.yousendit.com/
100 MB file size. The file stays on the server for 7 days. I think there might be a certain number of allowable downloads in total... I can't seem to find it in the site rules though. They might have changed this at some point.
I think there's a few other sites like these out there as well. I wouldn't mind being linked to them if anyone knows more.
Dang, I didn't think about the copyright and when I read the New Scientist FAQ it says I can't send the material without permission.
Oh well..... Thanks anyway.
(It was about the possibility of going back in time and changing the past)

We currently don't offer file upload ability, or as some call it hosting files. It would require the moderators and admins to constantly monitor what people are uploading. Copyrighted material, child porn, stuff in bad taste, etc. So for now, sorry.
