This last week I must have been operating from a very fast moving time machine.

I can't help feeling a long Time Delay Warp.

I can only imagine Earth Time is moving at two minutes to my every two days.

I'm working hard here but for very little response. So if Earth Time, as compared to me away in this Time Warp., is hardly moving, then my perception of response in a resonable time is all out of whack.

Or, perish the thought, are Members becoming Disenchanted with westwind? Surely not? Am I coming on too strong?

Well theres no accounting for bad luck. As I will be on extended Holidays shortly, I thought a maximum effort was called for so that you would not forget me.

But first of all I've got to try and work out how to return to Earth before all the Members of the Present Time Forum have grown old and retired. westwind.

Hmm, May I ask why you posted this in "Site Feedback" as opposed to "General"?

For Paleoichneum. Fair enough. This Thread I thought more appropriate for Site Feedback on the basis information concerning any Public Holidays currently in place in the USA might be mentioned, and that would explain why I am perceiving a slower Traffic over the last three days.
Also to advise any interested parties that I will be on extended leave from the forum shortly.
I felt this information and my enquiry re slower traffic might be quickly desposed of without a general discussion. westwind.

I have always though of the Site feedback subforum more for problems with the site itself (tech probs) or with actions of members. Things like that. Most other things always seem to fit better in other subforums.

Dear Paleoichneum. Your opinion is respected as your join date and Postes indicate that you are very familiar with type Threads and where it would be expected to find them. If the Thread had been submitted to Site Feedback as a straight forward Question ie., Quote "" Are some normally active Members having an annual Holiday break( Harvest Festival ) School Term Semenster, or is it my imagination that there has been a slowing of Traffic within the Forum? "" END QUOTE.

and QUOTE "" Please be advised that I shall be away from the Forum for a week or so on a trip up the Country in the very near future "" END QUOTE.

Now, the Thread did not appear like that. But that is me at my worst. Always trying to put a spin on things to take the formality out of precedure. And I was concerned ( I'm just conceited enough) that some Members might construe my absence from the Forum meant that I had suddenly taken ill, or better still that I had moved on to that Great Forum in the Sky.

This has probably by now achieved its purpose. We part friends on this I hope? westwind.

Westwind, here's the deal. This is primarily a science forum. You post, from time to time, interesting questions or observations relating to science. That's good. But sometimes you post things that would not be out of place in a rambling conversation in a bar, where all participants were half pissed. You know what those conversations sound like to someone who is sober. They smile politely and move on.

Now, I'm not trying to discourage you from such posts. I post throw away lines from time to time that may only make sense to me, but I don't then ask the world in general and the membership in particular "Why haven't you responded?"

I do not wish to offend, but I feel as someone who is almost as senile, I mean as old, I mean as experienced as you, you will grant me a certain licence in expressing and sharing my thoughts.

Please note I speak in my capacity as a member not a moderator, since the foregoing was not moderate.

Dear John Galt.. Maaatteee, I love you. Licence of course for this remark comes from the fact that you have my best interests at heart. You also have an understanding of human nature regardless of the age of that nature. And you have Moral Courage.Yes, the old Bar Culture, ( 6 Oçlock closing in Australia when I was always half pissed, so that certainly would be where I picked up the habit of rambling conversation. Having admitted that though I always thought I was contributing valued input to solving most of the World's Problems, as well as who was the best player ever of Australian Rules Football.

Inthose days I never met anybody that was sober.

We will share our thoughts John Galt. Now I want to know why those precious Members of The Science Forums do not respond to my Rambling Threads( I no longer Poste or Thread when I am Half Pissed. Drunk maybe. I'll not bite them. I haven't a nasty bone in my body. H'mmmm. That may not be entirely correct.

You cannot grow without all kinds of communication. I would hope that your appraisal of my goodself has not influenced any of the young Members into believing that there is little to be gained from the ramblings of an old man. This would be sad. I appeal to younger Members to take time and seek out the pearls that are always there for their benefit. Afterall, you will be the Senior Members in no time at all. Unless you are practiced in finding pearls amongst off tempo ramblings, what values will you have in solving the World's problems, when you are half pissed I mean?

Now john, off to my Thread in the Arts/Culture Sub/ Forum. The singing thread. We'll have morning Melodies while sipping our Morning Tea. Once again I love you Mate, you've got balls. westwind.

This is a very strange thread... but I like that the mod has a sense of humor (humour).

Ahh Westwind. My arch-Nemesis when it comes to mad ramblings, trolling and dancing on the fine line of acceptable and bannable behaviour.

Ahhh Raziell, you normally leave me in peace and to my own devices. ( as the Enchanter I have an obligation to keep up with my Spells). But, really I have missed you. Do you come and go according to the westwind? I'm determined to Thread escpecially for you and we will have a debate on an important Scientific Topic that is currently baffling the Buffs. By the way Raziell, what is trolling? westwind. ( I'll be away for a week or two ).
