Don't get me wrong here, I appreciate this forum, but I just found this out: Science Forums

Is it related to this one? Which is better?

not related, as far as i'm aware
on technical matters they may be good, but the tone is more cut-throat + far less relaxed than this place

so advance warning : unless you're well versed in the topic you want to discuss, you're likely to get shot down in flames for lack of rigour

It doesn't have its own psychology forum, so it sucks. Psychology is not "medical science".

No I am just curious, I can see that they have less members than us. And I don't like the site layout either.

I made a few posts there. I noticed a few usernames of the members here are over there, likely the same people. I only remember two though, one being DrRocket. I was surprised since I always see him in the old math threads here. For some reason, I guess he migrated. And I Agree with marnix's statement, to a lesser degree. They're more tighter on your qualifications. Just don't get the impression they're always humbug.

I go there on a regular basis. My impressions:

A forum as only as good as the moderators who run it.

Personal Opinion #1: One very serious problem that I see is that moderators in one forum are, in some cases, moderators in other forums. So if you have a personal conflict with one moderator then its possible that the new forum you change too will have the same moderator and thus the problem follows you from forum to forum.

Personal Opinion #2: Moderators should have two accounts, one for moderating, which should be anonymous, and a second one for their own posting usage.

Personal Opinion #3: There seems to be more active conversations there and there are some very pleasant people there too.

Personal Opinion #4: Poor selection of moderators. Some are very rude people.

Personal Opinion #5: Variable rules. As with all people, the moderators don't like the posting habits of certain members. However its not left at that. Even though the member doesn't break any rules that are explicitly stated in the rules page they claim those members broke a rule. I.e. they create rules to solve their personal problems with members.

Personal Opinion #6: Even when a problem could be taken care of using the PM system they, instead, use the public forum to chastize members. That only serves to heat problems up rather than calm them down. That seems to be a problem comon in many forums but many forums handle things more politely with one set of rules that apply to all.

Personal Opinion #7: The moderators will warn you when you send and angry PM to someone but have no problems sending members insulting PMs.

Personal Opinion #8: The moderators don't treat members with the same repsect that they demand of members.

    Those are my opinions.

I'd suggest if you have comments about another forum, you post them there rather than discussing them in ths forum.
