For Admin. I wasn't notified that leave had been granted to all Members. I must have missed the Thread. Imagine my disappointment this morning, 1015 HRS., when I came on line only to discover for the first time ever, no postes to my Threads, no postes to my postes, nothing in my Inbox on Hotmail. So, naturally I assumed everybody on leave. It couldn't possibly be that there was no interest in my input to the Forum. So a Question here; Will there be anyone at home if i go ahead directly with a really good Thread I have for the Science Forum? Has Scotty beamed everybody up? To be with him? westwind.

for a change we're having lovely weather in the UK over the weekend, hence everyone has either gone to the beach, or is in the garden or the garden centre

For MeteorWayne. Cooking? I'll bet you are a mean cook MeteorWayne. ( Australian for ''Good Cook '' ). Now I warm to good cooks, Bourbon and Food being good friends of mine. I cook too, believe it or not. My favourite? Spicy Thai noodles, packaged with sachets of flavouring and oils and chilli powder, added to heated Pasta Spagetti, after 6 minutes, with a Paket of Tom Youn Soup thrown in for good measure. Just enough water to cover all, then remove from heat, let moisture evaporate off. do not strain, add pepper, always add white pepper. Bon Appetite Wayne. westwind.

For John Galt. When we fly to UK from Australia it is normally a 24 hour flight, if you are lucky. Now, you flew across the Atlantic. When flying to England we do not traverse any Major Oceans. westwind. ( nor do we sleep ).

The longest socks you'll wear here are your rugby socks.

Dear KALSTER. With the utmost concern and out of great respect, you didn't really confuse Australia with Austria? You were just having a joke with us right? Fancy though, I didn't realise that Austrians have Kangaroos.

No. I learned the difference from the movie Dumb and Dumber. And you all also look like Steve Irwin (with knee-high socks) and say things like: "Crikey!", "Let's find a Bruce for this Sheila!", "G'day mate!", "Ha, ya bloody chook!",etc. And you apparently love putting prawns on the barbie.

Yes the stereotypical Aussie has changed a lot since the days when we were all like Paul Hogan in Crocodile Dundee...

Dear KALSTER. Now I undertand where you were misled. For starters, no reasonable Australian would have watched Dumb and Dumber. I personally thought it was an American Film. Australian men never say Ah. Bruce dosn't compute. Not with my Family, extended Family, Friends... Wot is a Bruce? I have never seen a Prawn, in America red shrimp, placed on a Bar-b-que in my long life of Burning snags and blackening sliced onions. Shielas, yes, I love em, could eat them all up. Australian girls are not too keen to be refered to as Sheilas, but since they like Blokes they put up with it. Remember once when I was visiting the North Country in England. I shouldered open the bat-wing louvered doors and slapped a Fiver on the Bar. Got a beer there Mate says I? The Inn Keeper took off like a lizard drinking up water.. Here you are Cobber, he says Fosters, as much as you can drink, icy cold too. Fosters!! says I. We don't drink that shit, we export it. westwind.
