Why would a thread be closed? I just started a thread about the relationship between momentum and velocity. I received one reply and the thread is closed.

This topic is very interesting to me as a martial artist. We train to feel the difference and control what kind of energy we are delivering. Do we move them or hurt them? Or both? Etc. But, I wasn't even given the chance to get into it because the thread was closed. Is this just an accident or what? Is this a discussion forum or a question and answer forum?

I might have done that by accident. Not sure how that happens, but I've done it before. I'll unlock it.

No problem. I was thinking it might have been an accident because I had no idea why it would have been locked. Good thing I didn't start ranting too much about it. Is this the right place to go if a thread is locked or should I have sent a message to a mod/you?

It works. Another way of doing it would have been to click on the "report post" icon of the message in question and then write a note to explain why you are reporting it. This will show up on the moderator's forum.

Hey sigurd they are all on six figure salaries, they get paid at least £1000 per hour.

Why Why why was a thread almost a year old, and related to a specific thread that was resolved, brought back to life????

    Almost correct.
    We don't get paid.

Yes yes yes, I asked myself the very same question, would you believe me if I told you that my very dear old friend Chrisgorlitz who seems to have taken a liking to my posts,(and who Ill not hesitate in helping out of any awkward situation without asking any favor in return,) happened by accident to pass by here and finding to his pleasant surprise an unguarded statement of mine where he could instruct me on how things really are... On the one hand I have a certain reputation for acidic texts that I worked hard to establish...On the second hand theres the fact that as a lover of truth I abhor lying and cheating ,And on the third hand I think you all agree that the best way to treat impostors and other villains is to ignore them...So i think the morally correct thing to do is to claim that I, and not an impostor trying to destroy my credibility posted that naive, trusting and well meaning post. So dear friends lets go back to ordinary business pretending nothing out of the ordinary happened here, and if it did lets keep quiet about it...Ok?

To be honest, I dont give a damn about threads...all I care about is the participators of threads, I like DaBOB and I couldnt resist the opportunity to ...eh..."stimulate" them moderately mean but somewhat lazy moderators.

Dabob appeared to ahve been satisfied a year ago when he/she let the thread go and did not keep posting in it.

Like I said, if you find an interesting topic you would like to talk about, rather open a new thread, even if the old thread was created by your friend.
