Due to an extended power outage the site was down for several hours the night of May 12th. The local utility company was switching out a transformer to accommodate a new data center that requires more power.

We had another small outage due to power related issues. The situation has been resolved and future short power issues should not impact the server. I can't speak for the rest of the network however

Looks like the building I keep the server in had an extended power outage last night. Battery backups were not good enough to keep it running. Let's hope we don't have a repeat.

Well it happen again. Long term power outage again. This time it was only a single phase of the two phase feeding the building. Of course this server had to be on that phase and not the other.

Not sure what to say other then, it sucked.

We are back up and running now. I think I need a much larger battery backup, or a diesel generator. It's not common to have power issues like this, just the luck of the draw I guess.

Ever consider a very cheap hosting option like Hostgator or something? They have very cheap rates for unlimited everything. Hosted my test site with them for a while. Or would you need cloud servers or dedicated servers for a forum like this?

If it's not one thing it's another. The server was moved over to a much faster pipe. Unfortunately it would appear the firewall was blocking the new IP for TCP port 80. It's kind of hard for visitors to reach the site when the firewall is being anti social.

Sorry about the down time, hope we didn't loose any members because of it.
