    One moderator wrote the following:

"This thread is locked. In the future, just do this: no snarking, no sarcasm, no off topic rants on apologies and who deserves what and being talked down to, etc etc."

I can't say I blame her for locking the thread. The discussion started out friendly and informative, but some troll had to show up and make an ad hominem against me. The mod did nothing and clearly there was an opportunity to nip the problem in the bud. She could have posted a warning right then, but she gave the troll a pass. Well, that put me in the awkward position of having to defend myself. Of course, I try to limit myself to witty sarcasm.

Well the mod thinks I shouldn't defend myself. OK, then do your job, please, then maybe your forum threads won't consistently turn into pissing contests. Well..she did eventually do her job...better late than never I always say.

At another thread, she wrote this little gem:

"This is not an argument or evidence against evolution and if you continue to stubbornly insist that it is you'll find your threads locked."

Gosh! I better keep my opinions to myself. I sure don't want to make the mod upset. This particular thread had no pissing contest yet, so I guess she thought she needed to fill the vacuum.

No one is forcing you participate here. I support Paralith's decision.

I find it amusing that paralith knows my definition of fitness and that of others. And that we all agree on this definition.

Clearly we don't. Otherwise there wouldn't have been any discussion.

I'm sure we all agree on all biological concepts according to these standards. Let's close down the biology forum because with this in mind discussion has become pointless.

Well that has to be the smartest comment I have read in a long while. Here is a suggestion: if you want to actually attract people to this site, you and the other kids might try acting like you're over 21. In this section, you asked for site feedback. If you and your pals are too sensitive, you might want to do away with the feedback section. Or put up a sign that says, "Tell us only what we want to hear, don't tell us what you really think, otherwise we might have to break out the tissues wahahahahahahaha!"

LOL! It seems every so often when I visit this site I am greeted by junior high school students. So you support her locking threads because she is emotionally challenged when someone disagrees with her position on an issue. OK, good to know.

Bye, kids! Gotta go do adult stuff. Have fun playing your little games.

Put them both on a savannah, and the reverse occurs.
Oh, now I see why you support her decision. If I had responded to the above comment which you left on the locked thread, I would have wrote:

Are you serious? Haven't you ever heard of Pigmies? Bantus? Zulus? And other Affrican tribes who live among baboons and other creatures? Humans don't just live in cities. Seriously, dude, you need to watch an episode of Animal Planet or something.

Ah. Now I see what you are. You're the "terrorist troll."

Your kind of troll goes to science forums (and probably political / general topic forums) and push buttons until you get a response from the mods. Then you go into the Site Feedback subforums and whine about "mod-abuse."

The idea is that if you do this enough times, you'll either create division among the members who are posting or work the moderators up enough that they're afraid to moderate your posts because they don't want to deal with the accusations of moderator abuse.

Sorry. I don't negotiate with "terrorists."

Continue this tack and I'll terminate your account. Or, if I'm wrong (and I am from time to time), I apologize in advance and you may go on about your business, posting freely with nothing to fear.

The bottom line is this: whining about "mod-abuse" each time you have a thread closed, post deleted/moved, will not get you anywhere but gone. If you have a legitimate complaint, send me or (In)Sanity a PM and if we agree, we'll act on it.

Thread closed. Do not reopen another on this topic.
