OK, well we are now running on a different server. It may be a bit slower, but it should be much more stable (I hope).
I was given a 1U server to use that is old as dirt but should suit our needs. The previous server was actually a virtual server running on a larger server. It's proven to be a royal pain in the ass.
I rather like this new server as it's kind of nostalgic. It's a Cobalt Raq 4 with an 80 GB HD and 512 MB of ram. It's running Debian version 5 with a 2.6 kernel and ext3 partitions.
It's a very neat little machine in mint condition. It's sitting in a server rack with nice cold AC blowing down on it and of course battery backup and the likes.
Crossing my fingers that it's up for the task. If not I'll have to try and find another 1U server. I can't use a tower or anything that's larger then 1U.
Wish us luck.
