this is supposed to be a science website yet i find NO forum on archaeology or biblical archaeology.

WHY IS THAT? lumping them in with a general category of 'history' does not do either field justice.

i remember one person claiming to be an archaeologist yet he does NOT complain that his field is omitted from the sciences? or is disrespected?

i also do not agree with combining them in with anthropology either. both fields are seperate in their own right and do not deal with the same issues as anthropology

    Good moot point.

This confirms HISTORY and is a sub section of history kind of like how genetics are a sub division of biology.

from what i've seen on this forum so far, it's that a subject has to show to have enough posters and potential threads to warrant its own subforum

the most recent introductions (forensic science and new hypotheses) have passed this test, and i suppose that archeology would have to pass a similar test

if there is not enough activity for a separate subforum, then the nearest lookalike will have to do as a home - i assume that's why archeology now sits with history and anthropology with behaviour & psychology

presumably you could always contact (In)Sanity and try to make your case - however, you'll notice that most subforums are pretty generic, so i'm not sure whether your idea will fit in with the current set-up of the forum

Yes, I think this is just an issue of popularity. If the interest is there, the forum will be set up.

I have an important question too, well not important quite trivial actually (I chose this thread after scanning for other appropriate threads), what ever happened to the new layout of the forum? I remember it was a little bit more snazzy and fruity.

We did re-organize the grouping of the subforums, but that's about it. I didn't know we had anything else planned. 0_o
Man can will nothing unless he has first understood that he must count on no one but himself; that he is alone, abandoned on earth in the midst of his infinite responsibilities, without help, with no other aim than the one he sets himself, with no other destiny than the one he forges for himself on this earth.
