And anyhow why does religion allways have to be on the defence and prove that god does exsist?
Why dont atheists prove that god dosnt exsist?

Why don't you prove that there are no pink dinosaurs on Alpha Centauri? If you're unable to do that, why wouldn't you believe me if I claim that in my holy book there are pink dinosaurs on Alpha Centauri?Originally Posted by Sciler
If we had to disprove every random claim before we can reject it as nonsense then we'd waste all our time. God fails on the proof of 'falsifiability': every sensible claim should be able to be falsified; a omnipotent being that is both everywhere and nowhere and declines to be known, is not falsifiable. Therefore I reject him as nonsense.
I reject the pink dinosaurs as well, although that's a much more sensible claim. At least they could be observed, and they at least to some extent conform to the laws of nature.
I agree, you can not prove something does NOT exist. It's impossible. There would be no way I can prove that big foot exists. Have there been sitings? Yeah, but no one has any proof of it's existance. Which leads me to believe that it is a myth. Just like god, there has been "sitings" of god, but does god really exist or is it people having an overactive imagination?
I'm betting on the latter.
Also, you do realize that you can respond to your own threads, right? You dont need to create an entire new thread for your "claims"...
Exactly. It's impossible to prove a negative. Knowledge gained through experience can help you drift more one way or the other.
My experience tells me that the God of the bible isn't true in the least. The reason being that science knows it does not know everything and scientists are actively trying to figure out why things are the way they are through scientific theories. On the other hand religion has a set standard of beliefs. When their beliefs are attacked from scientific discoveries religion comes up with some weird explanation. (Remember when the age of dinosaur bones were discovered and everyone said "God put them in the ground to test our beliefs!")
Merely because I have stated that I believe the religion of the bible (And every other holy scripture on Earth) is a farce does not mean that I don't think that it is possible that some bigger and more powerful force is out there.
to the OP,
Contrary to your other thread, religion does not promote freedom, but instead a ruleset.
So that said, if someone wants me to follow their ruleset and promises me great things when I die if I choose to follow. Then I think it is for them to prove the exisitance of the being that is the creator of the ruleset and the heaven, rather than for me to disprove it. After all, what proof do I have that this ruleset and promise is a true one? why should I give my life to it?
A book written by man, is not evidence enough of truth.
