I'd go to before the big bang and have my own super cool desert island planet filled with naked women. 8)

I dunno really, whatever I felt like, probably visit every planet so that once I got back home I could do it all over again.

Force everyone to play nice. Kill the hate. (Thats ironic.)
Why is hate so ingrained in humans? For the supposed enlightened species we are very limited to such primitive behaviors. Peace is a fleeting in our society.

I would establish My Brand of Socialism.

Guarantee jobs foir all. No unemployment!

Guarantee healthcare for all that would involve all credited healthcare practitioners. Especially the Naturopathic doctors that use Gods medicines like vitamins, minerals, herbs and etc.
This would eliminate the prescription drug monopoly.

Guarantee pensions for all worthy working citizens.

This would eliminate the need for religion since security of survival is our most necassary needed protection.

Then I would start passing laws to eliminate all chemicals that do not 'biodegrade' within 30 days(?)
Also emphcize the production of 'organic' produce that is naturally cultivated.

Impose high taxes on excessive surplus unneeded income in the 'free enterprise' sector.

Legalize the recreation drugs to put those drug lords in Columbia out of business that would also put those local street pedlers out of business that spread this problem throughout the US.

Legalize the GOD sanctified heterosexual act to reduce the crimes and perversions of this powerful biological drive to bring some sanity to this natural function.

Can't think of anything else right now.

That last one will draw some fire from the religious fanatics but this is GODS created function, not the bibles or the popes.

He asked what you would do if you were a god, not the president. Just wave your hand and create abundance of food and wholesome entertainment for all. Create all needed technology with another wave. Double myself to take care of things while I explore the universe at FTL travel.

I would put the fun place on the opposite end of the waste processing plant.... If there was a god, then he would be an idiot...

I would also make sure that eyes dont run on only 20% efficiency... if there was an eyeball factory, it would go out of business.

I would take out the appendix and the spleen because they have potential to kill us.

No offense to the christians out there, but if your god created us... He was retarded and not playing with a full deck of cards, if you get what I mean.

I hope that I would pray to God, asking in desperation for him to save me from myself.

But it is possible that I would do whatever seemed right in my own eyes and I have no doubt that I would quickly create a living hell for myself and everyone around me.

quick get on to the people who write the dictionaries, there spelling it wrong.

so my sig should read "before you beleive in anything, make sure you look for the Hawaiian garland called a beLEIve hidden within"
kind of makes no sense, I think I stick with what I've got thanks.

It is responisbility people need. Religion does make war. But this must be told, if we all used our common sense and did not let economics drive us, if we knew our responsibilites to this Earth and to each other as it is where we all come from, we can better the world so we can all live in it together in harmony. We each must learn not our rights but our responsibilities.

Yeah, well id probebly start with making all the men gay. Just for the fun of it. I would pick on people. Lift up, drop down, heal, repeat. And other stuff like blocking roads with huge rocks.

I would do all this mainly because it has to be boring to do what our (supposebly) god is doing now, Nothing

If I were some almighty entity I would:
    1. Be puzzled why I have created such a mess.
    2. Realized that it happened when I was sleeping, probably came out from my nightmare. Unintentionally, of course.
    3. Wipe the slate clean. Put all creatures out of misery.
    4. Make sure that it won't happen again.

Having scanned this thread, all I can say is, "Thank God. Nobody here is Him." And I'm glad I'm not Him.

set up some perfect goverment to run things for me (i will figure it out with my ultimate inteligence )

then i would most likely have some fun!

Ahhhh... So you are not one to waste your time with trivialities, but go straight to the greatest challenge. When I imagine what God would do, I imagine Him doing the same thing.

I would make every human feel excruciating pain every time they deliberately lied to, stole from or hurt another human and to stop the population going out of control i would make it impossible to have more than 2 children.
Then i would sit back and see what happens.

I would eliminate all evil so that little boys were not eaten by their parents and women were not kidnapped and kept in coffins for 15yrs and so on.

Why not just make the world so that it expands naturally as the population expands, create more natural resources etc so people could have as many kids as they liked?

Why not just make evil ineffective: so that little boys which are eaten by their parents just reappear with bad experiences forgotten and with better parents, and women kidnapped and kept in coffins can simply regain their 15 yrs by a combination of time travel and becoming young again. Why not simply make hunger and disease enjoyable with no lasting effects?

Why would we want a world in which the actions of people would have any negative consequences at all?

Yea, i like that one better. Plus, it would give the scientists a lot of tough questions to answer.

Does anyone remember HG Well's time machine story where human beings evolved into non-intellegent sheep?

Ah well, but I suppose a deity could fix that? - force them to be intellegent, force them to be motivated - hell why not just force them to enjoy life while you are at it. Doesn't that sound like paradise where everyone is forced to be happy, and good and intellegent and every other virtue? 8)

AH, yeah, the language was hilarious: "The gibbering fiends mounted my hill and ran incontinently upon me."

Forced to be happy sounds like murder to me. I need challenges and even failures, to live.

    So shoot.
This is another attempt to promote my opinion on this thread.

The first thing I would do is 'declare' our Constitution the greatest legal document in the world.

So as the ultimate law, I would impose its doctrine throughout the world.

That means the 'outlawing' of the 'one god concept' that the old testament teaches. Also its sexism and racism since our CN with its Amendments outlaws this discrimination.

I would also outlaw the crucifix and cross as 'cruel and unusual punishment.
This would include allowing the 'ending' of suffering as 'volentary euthanasia' by allowing family to make these decisions.
Those families that would want to keep these individuals alive would have to 'pay' for the costs of sustainig these lives.

Then I would allow abortion as legal because it occurs in Nature as a means of maintaining some balance in the species.

Than I would eliminate corruption by promoting the PUBLIC FINANCING of OUR ELECTIONS to restore the true Nature of our CN's mandate and representation of our electoral system.

That last issue is the #1 issue in our country (US) today.

I would first build a a computer of virtually limitless power
then on that computer I would create a virtual universe.

I wouldnt make things out of atoms.
the smallest particles in my universe would be cell-sized
and they would be programmable so they could take on whatever properties you needed them to have.
I would also create much bigger particles too.
They could be programmed to take on any shape and could be used as houses (or ships)
such a house could never collapse because its just one single particle.
Nor would it age or wear out or burn down.

the whole universe would be one giant world
no planets or stars, just one flat plane that everything is attracted toward.
The plane would wrap around so there is no edge.
Ideally, it expand continually so that as the population grows there would always be space for them.
Not sure how that would be accomplished though.

I was thinking the light source would be a kind of hyper-northern lights

I was also thinking there would be 2 fluids.
one dense as water and the other dense as air
the less dense fluid when placed under extreme pressure would become the denser fluid.
the energy of an incoming comet would be absorbed by this mechanism.
and the atmosphere would be extremely thick to fully protect againt anything falling into it.

people would be 1 inch tall.
The only hard part is fitting a human brain into such a small space.
since the smallest particle of my proposed universe is the size of a cell
then it follows that each particle would have to be able to act as a neuron or a group of neurons.
Since its programmable that shouldnt be any trouble at all.
they could also be programmed to act as muscles cells or any other kind of cell.
imagine being able to lift 50 times your body weight.
think how much work you could get done
    poverty would be nonexistent.

obviously I cant do it justice. I'm only human.
All I can do is suggest the broader features.
I'm sure some super-intelligent super-being could find a way to make it diverse and interesting.

I am not suggesting that God screwed up with this universe.
I would suggest that his purpose in creating this universe
evidently wasnt to create the best possible world

I think it's a no win situation. Your options are either

    1) - Take away free will so people quit hurting each other, then go mad because there are no other beings with free will in the universe for you to associate with on a social level.

    or

    2) - Give them their free will, and then let them blame you for everything bad that happens in the world because you could have stopped it.

I think I'd just choose option 2, then make a few DNA tweaks (mostly to increase female breast size), leave the rest alone.

I am going to write a SF novel some day about a God and his creations, but limited to one star and one or more habitable planets. Entire ecosystems not built on predation/prey. It will have several intelligent species and I'm not sure how to accomplish it yet but the life on the worlds won't evolve according to the Theory of Evolution. There will never be an unnecessary death and those that are necessary (don't know why yet) will not be painful. It will be some sort of Utopia -- possibly visited by Earthlings. My biggest problem is not being educated enough in all the areas. So, instead I will probably write a novel about some mundane thing that I know something about -- a worthless book destined to bore the (few) readers to tears.

Planet that has only plants will be a good candidate. Just make them intelligent.

Thanks for the idea. I know I'm going to have to blur the difference between animals and plants. I will definitely keep it in mind.
