With all the suffering that woman has witnessed I think it is easy to see why she might doubt her faith in the one true loving god. Personally I think she was very sincere in her efforts to not only assist the downtrodden but to bring awareness to the extremes of human suffering and mankind's indifference to it.

If you knew anything about Catholicism, you would know faith is the most difficult path of all..........even the Pope is not sure if he is good enough...........he struggles with his own personal demons..........sometimes even those around him..............

You see, in being alive, one tries to FIT EXACTLY into their environment...........

Now, a Saint who is taught that rewards are "on the way" for "good behavior", while also in the context of a faith that ideally should embrace ANY scientific truth on offer that SUPPORTS the immortal, well, that Saint is not too impressed by a place like the slums of India..........like, "obviously I don't believe enough"...........

I think your concern with the Fleet Street Press is well founded.............

I think, personally, science lost the plot when they decided to take the pursuit of the grail into their own jurisdiction, or should I say, "management"............the voices of dissent through an overactive display of doubt that assumes, generally, the form of political scandal.....politicians who want to be Gods....and try some type of answer again.

I'm not one to search the internet for anti-religious sentiment so believe it or not, that Mother Teresa article was on the morning news of a local radio station here. I think the same guy who owns the station also owns the theatre that plays The Life of Brian on Good Fridays. We need to make him a politician but I think he's having too much fun.

My parents, wife and in-laws are all faithful Catholics so I know a little more than I might let on. Christ, I have to be careful around them not to say the wrong thing. I've always believed Catholicism was the perfect religion just for the 'sin all week and be forgiven on Sundays' mantra they seem to live by.

I really don't wake up worrying about the Pope's personal demons but the one you alluded to, that being those around him, is something he should really take care of.

As for Mother Teresa and for the most part, all of us 'doubting Thomases' I guess we can never understand why God would permit such suffering on the Earth. The sin payment is about the only thing I know that justifies His actions. People accept the debt but question God's collection methods.
