/We've had animal gods, immaculately reproducing gods and gods that burried scriptures for a chosen one to discover - which I imagine were pretty faddy for their time, to appeal to as many impressionable minds as possible.

recently we have had scientology, which becomes more obvious to see the fad i.e. science fiction.

So what will be the next fad in religion?

God has been a number of things for sure. Time traveller, alien, numerous ethereal type beings, animal, celestial body, a consciousness, a human, nature, an energy, pure thought and many more . Its probably been done but......

Has God ever been strictly food? Personally I can't live without the Good Food God. The Good Food God is in everything digestible. However there is a dark side, the evil Food Imp disguised as the Good Food God. People would be a lot healthier by worshipping the Good Food God. My favorite place to worship is at the Church of Green Acres Restaurant just around the corner. Cockroach anyone?

Nice ideas but I was thinking more a long the lines of a fad that will kick-off the next major world religion.

Some how I dont think Elvisterianism and Restaurantology will have the mass appeal of ,say, Christianity or Mormonism.

"Religion fills in the gaps where knowledge is lacking, but only among the willfully ignorant." -- (not sure)

I would assume that as science continues to explain the unknown religion will seek other efforts to keep their philosophy intertwined with science. In the end science will prevail.

I'm surprised theres not a religion for devout users of preperation H, they obvious wonder why god cursed them, so they need a new one.
Why is hate so ingrained in humans? For the supposed enlightened species we are very limited to such primitive behaviors. Peace is a fleeting in our society.

Who would want to deny god? I know i reject the claims, but denying god is pointless.

With luck, we will discover life on Mars in the next ten years or so. We discover new planets in other solar systems regularly, now. Upcoming fads will be less earth-centric.

We are becoming more wired into everything. Upcoming fads will see god in electronic information.
