    THIS IS A DIFFERENT THREAD.

1ST. do you believe in the Big Bang Theory?

2ND. do you believe that before big bang there's nothing?

3RD. is there some special being with special power that starts everything?

    I do believe so.
Whence comes this logic: no evidence = false?

I don't understand why people seem to think the universe needs to have a beginning.

Most things we see in life are contained inside something else, which is why it's important to find out what the limits of their boundaries are.

IE. A human cell resides inside a human body, which resides on planet Earth, which resides in the solar system, which resides in the milky way................ which resides in the Universe. But what does the universe reside in?

Most things we see in life are also the result of something causing them.

EI. A human cell is created by other human cells in the body, which trace back to a single first cell which was created from a sperm and an egg, which were created by the cells in other people......... who trace back to other people who trace back to others who probably all go back to a common ancestor........... who came from the "dust of the Earth" ........ which came from the Earth, which came from the same cloud of galactic dust that the rest of the solar system came from......... which came from the milky way......... which formed out of random matter in the universe (and at this point things are somewhat speculative)................... But where did the universe come from?

What if the universe is the first cause, and everything else is the inevitable/semi-inevitable result of that first cause?

Yes. But with a SSU, no.

3RD. is there some special being with special power that starts everything?
    With the BB, yes.
That person was Georges Lemaitrae, a catholic priest with a PhD that came up with the idea of the 'expansion of space' and subsequently, an expanding universe.
This then could be the 'divine creation' of the BBU.

    1) Yes.
    2) I have no idea what was before the big bang, I have no idea if the question is even answerable.
    3) Very unlikely.

The expanding universe idea is based on the principle that an observer anywhere in the universe would witness the same hubble redshift that we do. Therefore space must be expanding, otherwise how can all galaxies except those in the local group be running away from each other? Of course, we cannot prove either way whether this principle is correct or not considering we are stuck on this earth.

it has a high probability, but it does have gaps, which I dont think we will ever get answers for.

no. just like the big bang is a probability, so is the unverse being cyclic, and a possible multi-universe, to say we know would be foolish. but at least these three are more reasonable then, god did it. dont you think

it's extremely unlikely, but as we cant check every nook and crannie in the universe, we will never know, unless it cares to show itself, we can say the same thing about elves, orks dragons, fairies, etc... or anything that has no evidence for it's existence.
like the lesser spotted eight legged jumping bean from the planet zarg.
so in answer to the question, a more reasoned answer would be, any one of the other three possibilities.
