    Check this out

So whats your opinon of rights for robots, should they be the same as for humans? Should the functional continuation of an intelligent robot be at par with the life of a human child?

Will robots learn religion, worship Migthy Thor (the only true god) or think there's a robot heaven like Cryton in Red Dwarf?

Should people be allowed to Marry with a robot(pleasure model let your imagination soar) of the opposite simulated sex or same sex or asexual model?

Should robot couples be allowed to adopt a human child?

(not quite sure which category is right for this topic but Religion will potentially generate the most entertaining replies )

I read this. it has to be a joke. If we have the technology for self aware robots like that, lets NOT BUILD THEM. I'd rather we *NOT* suffer a Battlestar Galactica fallout.

I do not think we have the technology to build self aware robots but the count down is on, in a matter of decades it should be possible imo (using techniques that forefit control of programming and allow machine to create programs by iterative process where thousands of code modifications can be made per hour).

I also think we should think hard and think twice about doing this
(skynet/terminator, matrix, Dune, 2001 space odyssey's Hal, etc, etc)

In the meantime if no legislation is set it remains an eventuality that somewhere in some country, US, Japan or S.Korea or whatever, when this occurs AI should it have human rights as a sentient entity when it learns it can also say 'no'?

(will islam declare jhihad against the machines or something?)

What will the bible quoting people say?

O.K. that is reaterted. We don't even understand how our own thoughts take place yet we are going to give equal rights to a machine that can simulate human behaviour. That is a disgrace to mankind if you ask me. Like comparing us to a robot. Why don't we start giving equal rights to cows too.

I'm all for making cool robots and stuff but, a robot is a machine meant to aid us in our work. It's not a friend or a parent or a spouse.

the strong survive and the weak perish.
i ripped this off of someone else's signature, but i felt that it equally applied to me.

The only cool thing about creating self thinking robots, is for space exploration. Other than that, it is very dangerous to human kind.

Haha, are you suggesting I have two profiles?

haha... No need to worry about the grey goo... that is as long as we can make a blue goo. :P What we should fear is the RED goo!!

Believe it or not I talked about these in a college report once.
