what happened ??
|
Contract negotiations between he and Lucifer fell apart, and they couldn't re-sign him. I think they're going to trade him to the Methodists plus a 3rd round draft pick next season.
I am assuming you are talking about Ratzinger aka Pope Benedict XVI???
Because I do not recall reading this week, the current Pope resigned, and Ratzinger was the first Pope to ever resign.
His earlier work within the Roman Catholic Church as part of the Inquisition,... pardon me... 'Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith' as they like to call themselves these days.... was to deal with the cases of Child Abuse by Priests within the Church.
Perhaps his guilty mind, sucking at his job, not really dealing with it but shoving it all under the carpet.... got the better of him...
Perhaps he wanted to prevent himself becomming an old slob, drooling all over himself in public, like Pope John Paul II.
cool thougts but those things do not look like facts... or believable facts more just nasty words... in hate
I'm content to just think he didn't want to die in the position and relax a year or two. That's not so unreasonable.
"hate"
may be the most idiotic waste of time and energy
................
long ago, while negotiating with the police on my son's behalf, I asked both the cop and my son to explain the circumstances------
as the story progressed, I interrupted my son by saying:
"You know ... some people are lucky in that they were born morons, but you, You've actually had to work at it!"
Whereupon the cop slid backward in his chair about 3 feet from the table, and just stared. The negotiations ended well, and we went home.
Whenever someone speaks from hate, I think of them:
"You've actually had to work at becoming a moron."

Back to the op question
I have no knowledge of the popes, never met one, never chatted with one, don't know any.
Why do you want to know why he resigned/retired?
Sandra Day O'Connor anyone?
I think that he might have been sick and even had a disease that is killing him so he just didn't want all the attention he would have gotten if he remained in his position. Now that he is away from the spotlight he might be getting help with his disease without all the press all over the situation.
I am curious if you mean me.
I was just answering your question by providing two potential reasons why he may have decided to quit... and everything else I said about Ratzinger is fact.
On the matter of child abuse,... there is a great documentary about this. It follows the start of the Child Abuse VS RC-Church in the USA from the point of the Deaf People that started it all. In this documentary his role in it all, is well explained. I do not recall this documentary's name so quickly,... If you are interrested in it I will look it up. It is really fascinating.
Anyway... my post was not hateful... it was written with satire in mind. There is a difference between these two.
Well that is silly then.
I am an Atheist and a Darwinist and I do not believe in anything mystical or magical or any beyond this world idea. I do not like any religion or what religion causes.
Yeah I am Anti Church and Anti Pope...
However you would simply say I am hateful, just for being against those things?
You can not say this, simply because me having my opinion, I am hateful.
Wiki says this:
At some point in a discussion, yes I coud be very hateful. However I can also show a sincere dislike for something without a emotional attachement. The moment I am not emotional attached... you could not classify me as hateful. You could only say that I am against.Hatred (or hate) is a deep and emotional extreme dislike that can be directed against individuals, entities, objects, or ideas. Hatred is often associated with feelings of anger and a disposition towards hostility. Commonly held moral rules, such as the Golden Rule, oppose universal hatred towards another.
A great example is the post I wrote. I wrote it with satire in mind and when I wrote that post I felt no emotional attachement of hate to what I was writing,... in fact the emotional attachement I had when I was writing it,... was humor.
I hate to see young children die.
I am a nominal Catholic who loves the Catholic Church but doesn't always believe in its propaganda. I would not describe myself as an atheist, theist, agnostic or whatever because I am experienced enough not to take sides in anything other than reason and logic. Sure there is evil in the Church, but there is love also.
At different times in his life, even Einstein described himself as a theist, an atheist, an agnostic, a pantheist and a deist.
As for Pope Benedict, I believe that he resigned simply because he felt unable to serve anymore to the best of his ability, and he was a brave man to do so.
Before my parents converted to Pentecostal Christian, they were devout and I MEAN DEVOUT Catholics. I was subjected to catholic school for 8 years....
I totally rebelled against high school to the point they knew I was not giving in...(ginger)......I have no respect for either. Having been in both religious cults.
Neither offer anything.
No offense intended OX....but I truly think the Catholic Church is Mafia driven and evil. I will be surprised if this Pope who seems to have a clue lives long.
Because his doctor informed him That smoking was bad.
Don't worry about me when it comes to offence. The only time I get agitated is when people are in denial about science or want to stifle free debate.
Can you back up your claim that the CC is today mafia driven with some hard evidence rather than just hearsay?
Of course the CC is open to evil of all kinds. It is all embracing, and it is extremely rich. How could it not be? There have been good popes (and I think Benedict was one of those) and there have been some diabolical ones (most recently Pius X11). It's rather like the police force where members are drawn from the community at large, so you have honest cops and corrupt ones.
Remember he was born in 1927, he's now 86 years old. Apart from obvious terminal disease, there's always the other issue. If he's had a couple of TIAs (transient ischaemic attacks) or was worried about his memory or concentration, he might have chosen to leave early. He could be wrong about the brain function decline, but he'd probably much prefer not to be still in office and having to recover from a stroke or have others shield him from public contact or public exposure if his memory started to fail in ways that were obvious to others rather than merely private concerns.I think that he might have been sick and even had a disease that is killing him so he just didn't want all the attention he would have gotten if he remained in his position. Now that he is away from the spotlight he might be getting help with his disease without all the press all over the situation.
He quit because the Church is not stupid and realises they need a new image. That is why the old pope quit and the new "white and innocent" one (notice how they got rid of a lot of the gold and he wears white?) came to office. They know that they are losing followers and I am quite sure their plans go deep and are quite elaborate.
The Roman Catholic Church Of ROme... is not loosing followers.
I think you pyoko might be from a western country where they do and are loosing followers....
But The Roman Catholic Church itself say, they are actually gaining followers.
They are and have been injecting Catholic faith in the poor area's of the world, and as a result gaining souls.... like vampires.
It will take atleast 4 decades atleast (would be my extreem ruff guess) before we hear of organized rape by Catholic Priets or UN helpers,.. or privat helpers in these poor area's.
I am from a lot of different places. Born in Russia, the Orthodox Church there has seen an explosion in members (increase). However I believe the Roman Catholic Church, even though may not be losing followers, has the foresight to see other denominations not having so much luck and are taking measures now rather than later to get ready to face the same.
Bad luck on trying to "label" me, btw.
No way.
The priest told me a story about a man who fell off his horse and was killed. In the final seconds he was able to recant 3 times 'I Repent'. He was saved.
Be a Catholic and bear this in mind. It saves much time and money. You are doomed if you are not a Catholic. I know this because another priest told me that.
Be aware that Jesus was not a Protestant. He was a Jew who founded the Catholic Church.
There is only room enough in heaven for Catholics.
But seriously, there are things I do like about the CC. They are not fundamentalists (that is a Protestant thing), they do preach love (which is better than the hate found in certain other religions), and their Mass is grounded in paganism (which I like).
I think because he knows the true story of life after death.
Aliens. Also, he did not want to die as the Pope. The cake was a lie.
