    I've recently done lots of research about the Illuminati.
    Just the research itself was a shocking experience.
    I'm not sure which section to put this, so I'm putting it in the Scientific Study of Religion.
    Are there any famous video games that are not associated with the Illuminati?

    No there are not. After considerable research, I could not find one that did not use one of the letters in the word Illuminati, except one which had no user guide and was called 123XYZ, but then I saw that in the game theres was a house, and the roof was a bit triangular, the triangle being a dead giveaway cryptic reference to the pyramid, hence the Illuminati.

    I dont play any of these games but could it be because there are in game fictional illuminati references?
    Like Doom might have references to Hell, without "actually" being designed by Devil worshiping Satanists sacrificing a goat in the clauset of the air conditioned server rooms?
    Or easter eggs programers put in just for fun

    Ramen, I think it is just a case of a minority of conspiracy theorists ramble on about the mythical illuminati and the majority of other people, including game developers, mock and make fun of them by teasing and taunting them with symbols that the idiots believe are part of that fantasy conspiracy.

    When I was in 8th grade some fundies accused me of being a devil worshiper and a witch in school so when they were in ear shot I would murmur "spells" (iow gibberish) on them just loud enough for them to hear. It was hilarious watching them freak out in a panicked frenzy. That is pretty much what you have going on here. The mostly sane majority is teasing and taunting the batsh!t crazy conspiracy theorists because it's funny to watch them freak out.

    Don't be one of those batsh!t crazy nutjobs.

    The symbols (some of which are only very tenuously connected to the Illuminati [sup1[/sup]) were deliberately placed there as in-jokes or part of the background story.

    Of your list of 4 games I've never heard of one of them, and never played ANY of them.

    I didn't really read the thread. I glanced at some replies before my brain said, "This is work." I stopped doing it, then.

    It reminded me of the "Tombraider" series so I spewed it out on the page like, "Blaahahhhhh here you go; enjoy."
    Not one of my better habits... But I didn't care much since this threads existence rates at a 2.1 on my important-o-meter.

    There are people who claim leprachauns are real too. There is also some guy who claims Eminem was replaced by a clone android back in 2006 and that the real Eminem sold his soul to the devil. Like I said, there are a lot of nutjobs out there and they are allowed to post whatever nonsense they want on the web just like anyone else. Don't believe everything you see online or tv. People make stuff up, some are crazy and delusional, and some are just exceedingly stupid. Learn how to recognize reliable sources.

    You guys gotta remember. This is a kid just starting to experience the world and skepticism. He was raised by believers and is trying to make sense of the world around him and sort out what crap he was taught that is real and what was crap. He is sincere and has come a long way. But religious stuff isn't the only stuff he is trying to cut through. Believers tend to believe lots of nonsensical things and he is trying to figure out what is what.

    It would be nice if we could cut him some slack. Yes he is going to ask questions that seem bizarre and he is learning to be a skeptic so he isn't going to just take our word for anything, he doesn't know who to trust being that he has been lied to most of his life. We need to give solid explanations to him as to why the things he is questioning are false or otherwise. He is trying to learn how to use logic and critical thinking and deserves a helping hand without constantly making fun of him.

    Yes there are games with an illuminati included in the game, but remember games are fantasy and not real life.

    There's games that include James Bond and others that merely mention him. is he real too!

    There are no games associated with the Illuminati, there is no Illuminati, it is all nonsense, but if you explain to a 'believer' about how many resources and how many people it would involve, some of whom are bound to talk, and that this kind of thing just doesn't happen.

    The believer will just think that you're part of the conspiracy. Just like a person who has a belief in god will defend his position.

    Real life doesn't work like a Movie. In real life things break, people talk, mistakes are made, people become lazy, huge secrets are very difficult to keep.

    If a so called Illuminati had a fraction of the powers and resources, they would not be a conspiracy.
    If there were an actual Illuminati of whatever persuasion, most if not all of history would be vastly different. I just can't see how historical events (taken as a whole since, say, the invention of agriculture) have consistently favoured any particular group.

    Though those committed to conspiracy theories have no trouble rationalizing such inconsistencies.

    Damn -- you're right again, Strange. I just discovered that Nolan Bushnell, the father of Pong, is an Illuminati Grand Master. He's never mentioned the Illuminati; that studious avoidance is conclusive proof that he is one of Them. Plus, he started Atari, a company that made money. Dollars. Lots of dollars. And what's on the back of a dollar bill? Yup. Lots of mysterious symbols of the Illuminati.

    And "Atari" is an anagram of "tiara," the traditional crown of ancient kings and emperors whence the Illuminati descended.

    Obviously, video games were created by the Illuminati in a well-thought out campaign of mind-control, extending at least as far back as the 1970s. I'm sure that the board games that preceded video games also have similarly sinister origins. I'll never again look at Monopoly and Cluedo (Clue in the US) with the same innocence.

    As the Illuminat was an organization set up "to oppose superstition, prejudice, religious influence over public life, abuses of state power, and to support women's education and gender equality"1 it could only be a good thing if it still existed.     I know a lot of good games that don't (to my knowledge) have Illuminati symbols.

    -Ur-Quan Masters: You are a space ship captain who must gain alien allies in order to defeat the your monstrous rulers. Be careful, you have little resources and only 4 years.

    According to the number of Google results, the octopus is also an illuminati symbol! (I really didn't want to follow any of the links to find out why). But at that point, one has to ask if there is anything which the CTs don't think of as a symbol of, or evidence for, the Illuminati.

    Woah... Just, woah... Hard to imagine there are people out there who cling so dogmatically to every shred of inconsequential evidence that a "secret" organization controls the world. The "" are due to the fact that nothing about this supposed organization is a secret. It seems like everything about it can be find out by searching conspiracy theorist hosted pages on the interwebs, and finding symbology reflective of ancient Egypt, as well as several other prominent ancient civilizations, on everyday things. The purpose for these symbols being used over and over and over is the fact that they hold a kind of nostalgic, and to some awe inspiring, grip over civilization and social artistry. Ancient symbols and art are plastered all over modern art, that doesn't mean the "Illuminati" had anything to do with it though.

    Why does the game have to be famous? Do the Illuminaty only make famous games? If so... they must be great programmers being able to make great video games all the time. I bet Blizzard, EA or any of the others then,... will have some Illuminaty working for them? I suppose the research done,... will have evidence for that?

    But... lets assume an Illuminaty game does not have to be famous...

    Yeah,... not all games are inspired by the Illuminaty... why should they? I made some games myself that have nothing to do with mystical societies.

    my point isn't that illuminati-members are great programmers. my (and many other people's) point (speculation) is that the illuminati control the media, most news casts, most publishing organizations, most advertising operations, and other media, and for good games to be famous, practically all situations they HAVE to go through the media.

    the illuminati-controlled media will only allow game releases containing illuminati-symbolistic content.
    basically, mostly all good games which contain illuminati-symbolistic content will be made famous


    get the point? im not saying illuminati programmers create the games.
    im saying that they only allow illuminati-symbolistic games to get into the media to be famous.

    But is this not just a simple cause and effect principle?

    I think both these screenshots are from the last GTA game?

    That is a fairly recent game. Ever since Dan Brown wrote that aweful book (which I have not read) and a (crap) movie was made from it (which I did see and hated)... it would be attractive for game producers to put stuff like that in their game. Why? Because it is simply a way to make your game more commercially succesful, by surfing on the hype of other people┤s work! Do note it takes several years to make a game like this,... so when they made it all up, The Da Vinci Code was still very fresh in people┤s memory.

    This is nothing new. This is how many books are written, and many movies are made. The continuation of the hype something else has caused, in the hopes of making better sales for your own work. This is capitilism at work!

    Another great example for this are the Lord of The Rings Movies. I am a HUGE SciFi fan. Before the LotR movies, when I walked into a bookstore and looked in the SciFi section, there would be many SciFi books.
    But ever since the LotR movies, the real SciFi books have all but disappeared and have been replaced by Fantasy novels with elves dwarfs ogres, and whatever more. But the section in the bookstore would still be named SciFi, eventhough hardly a real SciFi book can be found there now these days.

    Cause and Effect?

    Is the cause The Illuminaty... or is the cause commercial thinkers at work... which results in the effect of these things showing up in games all over?

    I would argue the latter: Capitalism, commercial thinking.

    If it has something to do with the Illuminaty,... I would ask you first:

    Where is the evidence that the Illuminaty still exists and has a secret agenda nobody knows?

    I am not a complete fool. I know alot about it, though it is not my particular field of interrest. I know about the Founding Fathers, the alleged suicide in London (or was it murder) and stuff like that. I know this all from watching documentaries.
    It is all mysterious and I have no intend to insult you if you believe in it. Sure there are closed societies. But I see no real evidence for them to have an agenda so powerful enough to have impact in such silly things as computergames.

    Without intending to insult you...

    But are you simply also not just surfing on the hype Dan Brown caused?
