i am deformed, pretty much. the biological cause of my impending doom is the same as the cause of my physical deformity which makes my life suck.

i want to know, what drugs would you use?

i already use caffeine and alcohol, i may just continue to use only those until i die in order to compensate ...

a cure (? a modern concept, people in the past with my condition may not have even known they were ill) may come in the future, but i'm not going to gamble on waiting for it

so based on your collective wisdom and understanding of biochemistry, what would you use? since i only have a year to live, i don't have to worry about long term effects of drug use

instead of 80 years of human lifespan, i have 20-something years

I do not know why you chose to post this in this particular subforum, but I will entertain your questions if you are able to clarify some points which was left pretty vague.

I would like to know how old you are right now, to give me some perspective of where your thinking is? Also, until you clarify why you want the information, I can only assume you want to be ready to end it all on short notice. While I can sympathies with your goal, I have to tell you this forum really frowns on it's members providing this kind of information.

I would suggest it wouldn't take a great deal of effort to do your own research online to come up with many good possibilities.

i am 23, which is the same number as half the number of human chromosones ... 23 always symbolized to me the number of the unfortunate person who inherited an unfortunate amount of recessive genes

because you could still THEORETICALLY father/mother healthy offspring with only 23 healthy chromosomes, but that's the limit

    i am very drunk ...

Have you considered tobacco in the form of cigarettes ? Cigarettes do compliment coffee and most alcoholic beverages for many people. Some of the hospice patients I have known liked marijuana.

So what does being drunk do for you? I usually despise talking to drunks. Back in my younger days I had my share of drunk times, but the only kind of women I could get were also drunks and then waking up was a real sad thing to go through. But after awhile you will learn. Pot is definitely better but is still illegal in most places. Tobacco doesn't really get you high, but is highly addictive and is a costly unhealthy way to spend your money.

I knew this guy that said all the men in his family died early (in their 40's) so he partied every day like there was no tomorrow and lived the most unhealthy lifestyle of just about anyone I ever knew. ( I wonder if all the men in his family did the same thing?) A self fulfilling prophecy if I do say so myself.

Depressing thread. Do you mind if I ask what genetic disorder you're referring to?

Marijuana is likely a better alternative to alcohol, though I've never used it. I'm not a fan of getting thoroughly drunk, and would much rather just get buzzed a bit to elevate mood. Mixing coffee and alcohol will likely just throw you into a flurry of emotions, coupling stimulants with depressants can result in almost bipolar like mood swings. In my experience at least.

One gives pause to wonder just why those were the "only kind of women" you could get.........was it the result of being drunk, or was the drunkenness the result of only being able to get that type of women? jocular

In my opinion, you'd just be wasting your time. Cocaine is forgettable, so are opiates, psychedelics, dissociatives, euphoriants - all psychoactives are forgettable. There is nothing fulfilling about a lifestyle like that. Forget about long-term effects - consider how demoralizing they can be. In my opinion your time, and perhaps money, is better spent on spectacle. Masturbatory grasps of the intangible are a waste of time. So are blazes of "glory". If I were in your situation, I wouldn't use any.

Edit: When you get drunk, you're not just investing the time it took you to get to that state, and the amount of time you spent in that state. You've also invested time in recuperation. So if you spend a total of six hours drinking, and in an inebriated state, you're actually spending a total of 18-30 hours when you account for recuperation. The more intense the drug, the more intense the period of recuperation, and the less enjoyment overall.

So again, if I were in your position, I would be looking towards something that would yield more time spent enjoying myself. Seeing things, going places, seeking closure. The point is, when you're on your death bed, you don't want to be second guessing how you spent your final days. This whole "blaze of glory" approach treats your life as an epilogue - and there is only ever a final chapter.

The point I was trying to make, is when you are drunk only other drunks can stand to be around you. If you smoke dope, guess who you are going to be hanging with? I'm not saying you can't drink socially, but if you tend to get drunk every time you start drinking, then don't drink. If you can limit yourself to one oz of hard liquor or one beer per hour, your good. If you like to mix your high, don't expect a good result in your life.

So you have already outlived your claimed lifespan.

I don't know what the relevance of that is.

    i am very drunk ...
    That probably explains a lot.
