I guess if someone deliberately chooses not to be understood, then they might as well go on the ignore list.

For your argument to work, you need to define a fictional character as "some force beyond scientific understanding or the laws of nature"
    That is silly.
You think that fire-breathing talking dragons are completely natural; not supernatural at all?
    Now that is silly.

    Yeah...like fire-breathing.

    Yes, a fictional supernatural force.
Do you know of any non-fictional supernatural forces?

Where does it say that supernatural beings MUST exist?

And we are back to where we were: you have still provided no arguments against Smaug being a supernatural creature.
All you have posted is a 'argument from incredulity'; a definition of 'force' and a bunch of adolescent jibes.
I guess that must be all you have.

I think it is because he is a deist.
Some deists have a fear of actually defining their god and they vigorously attack anyone else that tries.
I think it is because they can avoid justifying their belief (or accepting it is irrational) if their belief remains undefined.
{abe} And looking at Sculptors post below (where he now claims - ironically - that he has made no claims) further supports my assertion.

It appears to be quite conclusive: you have nothing to support your claims.

    That is a bare-faced lie.

Since you are now having to lie, that further confirms my conclusion: "you have nothing to support your claims".

    what a crock of sh.t

you have a claim you wish to dispute?
    Quote it and dispute it.

I'd be lying if'n I said that I had even a residual ammount of respect for you, or your opinions/
But, that ain't true, so I ain't gonna keyboard that silliness in

A perfect summary of your argument.

And there's no point continuing this discussion as you have now shown how far down you will stoop to avoid admitting that you are wrong.
Your intellectual dishonesty is apparent and repugnant.

Moderator Action: Apart from Babe's last comment, which was useful, the bulk of the posts since I issued a pre-emptive warning have just been generally escalating insults and provocation. I suggest if you have that much desire for a fight you go out and play with the traffic. I'm closing the thread. If you want it re-opened appeal to another mod. I'm not touching it.
