    Can we know the truth?

Someone told me we cannot prove the existence of any god. People say they know that their god is god. They KNOW. Is that separate from believing? Is knowing also believing? If you believe in God are you convincing yourself that your God is real? Are you picking apart things that are mere coincidences and making them not a mole hill but a mountain (of evidence)?
Do atheists also convince themselves? Perhaps God is something we cannot comprehend whatsoever! Or perhaps we tell ourselves different things for some reason concerning the questions of philosophy to protect ourselves?

What do people call themselves when they believe you cannot fathom God. Perhaps we shouldnt even be calling him/her/it God.

What does Richard Dawkins talk about in "The God delusion"? What does he believe?

    1. truth is a type of concept of personal awareness, right?
So, why not ask someone who represents everyone right?

    (edit)

better still, lets all get paranoid and realise we are very unhappy with how everything is working out.........

He says that people are deluded into believing that there is God Almighty.
He believes there is no God.
I think you can afford to buy the book and read it yourself.
If there is any religion that would cope with modern scientific needs, it would be Buddhism

Carl Sagan thinks some individuals have an excessive neurologycal tendence to religiousness; maybe an atavism, a primitive mechanism of self-protection from menaces. Hipothetized that religious and very religious persons could have higher levels of an undiscovered brain compound (he called it 'teophiline').

Do atheists also convince themselves? Perhaps God is something we cannot comprehend whatsoever! Or perhaps we tell ourselves different things for some reason concerning the questions of philosophy to protect ourselves?
Some are unsophisticated, cant see beyond good & sin, heaven & hell, no other alternative abstruse images appears in their minds (Einstenian?). They think the Devil uses science and skepticism to questioning, confuse, and discredit The Simple (Newtonian?) & Holy Scriptures.

The only way God (whatever it could be) manifest him is thru our ability to discover the laws & principles of our universe.

What do people call themselves when they believe you cannot fathom God. Perhaps we shouldnt even be calling him/her/it God.
Why God created the Devil? Means he is not better than a cosmic Frankenstein? Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon - YouTube His experiments can result terribly wrong?
Why we are not worthy to know the truth about this failed experiment? Why we must pay for the errors of an Omniscient Being (God).

Some theologians argue we originated the evils, but it is not clear that an humankind founded by excellent scientists & teologyans could have been raised an ArtificialParadise. Where no metaphysical doubts exist, no diseases, no unfortunate accidents, etc.

Richard Dawkins seems to suggest that rather us being governed by a supreme being, we are all governed by the need for our genes to survive and be passed on. "The Selfish Gene" explains all about this idea of how our behaviour is dictated by the desires of our genes.
