Religion is science and I base this on relative thinking and not complex by means of simple translations. The time and bases of the bible was in a stat where the unexplained was explained by ways of that time. In many cases of my study the realtive factors could easily be obtain as miss guided interpretations. Many say the complex data of the bible is very hard to decipher, but in all reality it is very simple if you look past all the word codeing as I call it.

You seem to think that science is about knowledge and explanation. while science is concerned with these this is not what distinguishes it from other methods of acquiring knowledge or providing explanations. It is the process of acquiring that knowledge that distinguishes science. There is no evidence I am awareof that the Bible's knowledge was acquired using the scientific process. Therefore it is an error to say that religion is science.

(And I am not even addressing your peculiar thought that religion and the Bible are equivalents!)

Also, science can, via related disciplines such as medicine and engineering, produce practical and useful results. I am not aware of any examples of useful technology being produced by "applied theology".

Where does lightning come from? Well, Zeus up in Mt. Olympus gets angry and shoots the lightning bolts at things.

The above is not science. You could call it an explanation, but it is not science.

Science isn't just "explaining the unexplained". It's the goal of science, but doing it through observation, experimentation, and rational thought.

Not conjuring up something to fit one's ritualistic whims (like many religions) or just because one thinks it seems just right and goes with it based off their own thought (philosophy)

That is why what we mostly call "religion" today is not considered what we call "science". It does not involve rational thought, strict observation, scientific methodology, etc.

    Religion is bullshit.
In other, kinder words. Religion is an excersize in ignorance.

After much discussion over months or years, i forget how long, Wilkerson's wife became pregnant. one day Cruz decides to test God, he basically prayed--God if you are real let the baby be born a boy-- it was a boy. There are also paradoxes in The Lord of the Rings. Does this mean you believe in Sauron?

Oh oh oh... What about the paradoxes in Herbert's Dune series... Does that mean you believe in the spice Melange? All joking aside. Religion is not a science for one very simple reason, Faith. One does not need faith to prove, or disprove something utilizing the scientific method. However, when dealing with something that is immeasurable, ie. God, one must have Faith. And as Faith itself cannot be quantified it is a belief. It is a choice. I CHOOSE to believe in God. I also believe in Science because science can create a repeatable demonstration. Simply put. If I mix vinegar with baking soda it will have a reaction that releases ( if I remember my basic chemistry) carbon dioxide. This can be proven by carefully tilting the container with the mixture in it over a flame and "pouring out the heavy gas which will then extinguish the flame. Unfourtunately I do not know of any experiment that can either prove OR Disprove the existence of God. It then becomes a matter of personal belief. And while I can choose to believe that it is not a heavier than air, non combustible gas that is produced the evidence clearly backs it up... If you can create an experiment which proves the statements of the Bible you are reffering to I would greatly enjoy perusing your data and methods.

Sorry, apparently I do not know how to properly utilize the qoute system.
