My Religion's professor sent us a Youtube video to watch as part of our exam, so I decided to watch few minutes into it and then read some of the comments. What I stumble upon was rather disturbing and quite interesting at the same time... a person by the user Point Man strongly believes that the white race owes his people a form of incentive due to their centuries years of deceit and damage to the African community. He argues a lot of theological concepts and mentions how the Christian Bible has been reinterpreted to promote White supremacy. Although he's stated his argument, I don't know exactly what he intends to do to justify his claim. Meanwhile, others of the debate feel as though they have no obligation to owe anyone anything, or others who simply just want to pacify the situation. What I am interested in knowing is, does this guy mentions any truths to what he says, or is he just another brainwashed extremist? Thanks, I am interested in knowing what you all have to say

Pointman wasn't the one saying that. He was arguing against it, saying that nobody owes anybody anything, and race is a silly concept. Cone kind of lost me when he said all 9 supreme court justices were white, with one looking black but being white.

Reparations talk kind of bugs me. It implies that, if my father were to murder someone and then die before he could be put in prison, would the police show up and arrest me for his crime?

Some clocks are only right twice a day, but they are still right when they are right.

I think about the only he gets right is arguing that the majority almost always harnesses religion among other tools to persecute minorities.

I also don't like the idea of reparations. None of us should be punished, including having to pay money, for the sins of our fathers. If a group is found of disadvantage due to lingering prejudice than we should do education and punishment of those doing the prejudice while protecting the persecuted as equals in our society.

Actually he was, if you read further back he replies to Brit that "his kind" owes black people reparation everyday, all day. Eatsy was the one who argued that race is a silly concept. Dr. Cone kind of lost me there too, was he saying that the black man was living by "white" standards or something? I don't know, I'm guessing .
