Is it ethical to create defensive technology this means that a war is expected at some point in the near future. Why dont they just get rid of all the weapons and armor and then we could all live peacful natural lives. It is to bad a utopian society will never exist it would be nice.

It is cool but it is designed to protect which is good but what if there was no device to need protecting from?

yes... But that's an unrealistic goal. Humanity is inherently greedy and envious, both of which lead to the desire to take what others have, and force is too convenient a method to ever not be in use

There is nothing wrong with a bit of protection, because there is always a religious nutjob round the corner, willing to pound your head in because you don't follow his version.
A logician saves the life of a tiny space alien. The alien is very grateful and, since she's omniscient, offers the following reward: she offers to answer any question the logician might pose. Without too much thought (after all, he's a logician), he asks: "What is the best question to ask and what is the correct answer to that question?" The tiny alien pauses. Finally she replies, "The best question is the one you just asked; and the correct answer is the one I gave."

This topic is neither constructive nor topical. It should be moved, or locked.

Weapons technology and a hypothetical utopia are two different topics. It's possible your hypothetical utopia would require weapons.

Why does this forum attract so many nutjobs?
