I personally think humans have evolved a brain that believes in a devine creator (some more than others, and some override it all together), because it is evolutionarily benificial to do so (albeit for the unity it creates among us, hope and positivity in the face of adversity or what ever else). Recent research also suggests that god is merely in the medial temperal lobe of the brain, what do you think?

i dont think its evolutionary but psykological
i think that we humans have a need to udnerstand out sourrunding with our ability to think. But humaniy werent able to explore the world back then so they created this bieng to satesfy their need of knowing and also to satesfy other needs such as imortallity. Those who join today are either lazy, brain washed or think we humans are much more than what we really are

Well I think there's certainly a psychological aspect there. As for the need to understand our world, yes but why is religion so prevelent today though when we have better answers? I would say that the majority of religious people understand logic science and evidence yet still specifically absorb religious concepts like a sponge to water.

BTW is english not your first language? The standard of your writing doesn't seem to correlate to the standard of content.

nope its not, and if ure talking about my shortring of you to u and why to y and such tis mainly because its a habit and because im lazy

why they do that is beacues the have been often brainwashed by their parents that tehre is a good, not many are raisen without religion in a religius family so they can choose, they are raised with the religion and therefor wont leave it in the first place because if they do they lose their entire fundament of existing. with out it they dont know what to think aand such.
they only understand science because they HAVE TO

I think its a bit naive to insist that something that has aflicted such a high percentage for so long and so much resource devoted to, is merely a result of millenia of generational brainwashing. I also think you are ignoring the latest neural research suggesting there is indeed a center devoted to god.

Ah so you are changing your mind then and saying that we have evolved a predisposition to believe in god?

Sorry but I (obviously I thought) wasn't saying that an evolved predisposition in the brain was the only factor, I agree with you that upbringing has a huge influence. I think we are at crossed purposes really, but at first you did dismiss any genetic predisposition in favour of an entire nurture phenomena did you not?
