Tell me why nobody thinks that science is the way god goes about doing things.

As in.. We hear of evolution and why does nobody even have the slightest thought that evolution is the way that god made humans on earth.

We hear of the big bang and tell me why nobody even gives it a chance that the big bang has something to do with the way god had created the universe.

Science being the study of the reality in front of us, and god made the reality in front of us, how is science not the study of god?

Your premise is incorrect. There are plenty of people who think that the way the Universe appears to science is the way God arranged it. There are also plenty with the contrary viewpoint.

Hey! I am not nobody! Perhaps we need a name for it. How about "theistic naturalism". I often call myself a Christian naturalist, which obviously cannot be a metaphysical naturalism, so it does not mean that I think that scientific world-view is the totality of reality. But it does mean that the scientific methodology is quite effective in discovering new and unexpected things about the world and I think these discoveries should inform our theological understanding.

You should watch that video, "Did Darwin kill God". Then you will see that this opposition between Christianity and science is originally a mostly Yankee phenomenon, and as you can see from me not all Yanks... not even all Yankee Christians... why not even all Yankee Evangelical Christians are a bunch of neanderthal ignoramouses.

People do. In my case I think that is the wrong way to think about it. Evolution is not the way God did it. Evolution is simply what the objective methodology of science reveal in its inquiry of the origins of the species. It is like a time lapse film of a growing plant which doesn't show the parts where the caretaker comes in and waters it. We should not be surprised that an enterprise like science which looks for an explantion other than God for things, therefore doesn't find God.

I think the problem with these neanderthal Christians is their attachment to a mindless fairytale interpretation which they want to use as a science textbook. For if they would but grow up a little and look at how God works in their own life then they might realize that it would only be natural to assume that God works in creation of living things in exactly the same way -- not with a magic wand but with the knowledge of what is best. Then they might realize that this is the ONLY way that God could have created living things -- not as a watchmaker and designer that makes only dead things but as a shepherd and a teacher.

What do you mean nobody gives it a chance? All the theists who take science seriously believe exactly that. Of course the atheists do not. Why should they believe that God is responsible when they don't believe that God exists? As for the anti-science "only whats in the Bible is real" cult, like the flat earth society they refuse to see what is right in front of them.

Because the reality in front of us is not God. It is only the theists who both believe that God created the universe and believe in the premise of science that the evidence is not all some big hoax by God or the atheists to deceive us, that are going let the discoveries of science inform their theology. BUT make no mistake even for them, if they really understand the nature of modern science, they would NEVER try to make it out that modern science and theology (the study of God) are one and the same thing, for that is exactly the agenda of the this creationist cult that is out to destroy modern science, because they do not want a scientific explantation of the origin of life and the species.

basically every theistic evolutionist and progressive creationist thinks that God used secular scientific ways to create the the universe and life.

problem is, it contradicts Hebrews 11 and every other passage of scripture which refers to creation.

stephen hawkins once wrote about the scars found in the universe and how that may have been evidence for the big bang. i wrote him to say that it could also be evidence for God's creative act.

if you choose to accept the secular science's idea then you have many problems:

    1. contradicts God and His word, rendering it useless, including salvation
    2. calls God a liar which means He sinned and cannot be God, holy or better than humans etc. which means there is no moral standard, no right or wrong, no heaven and so on
    3. destroy's faith which you need to please God.
    4. says sinful men know better than Holy God, they don't, they just like to think they do.

and many more. what happens is you destroy purpose, hope, love, and all the good things that can be found and you are left with nothing but lies and hopelessness.

God did not use evolution for He left no doubt that He is God, He is powerful and He is above all things. which means we have a person we can turn to who is greater than our problems and take comfort, have confidence in and provides us with real courage.

I am sure he emitted a hearty monotone laugh when he read that.

The problem is, there is a mechanism to which these scars appear to adhere. To fit some piece of evidence like this to creationism, you would first have to explain how an omnipotent being actually works, to create the universe.

and you, arch, would be the type of theist that the OP is talking about.

I don't think the solution is in just believing science, I don't think it is just believeing in the bible. I think being open minded and finding a place for them both.

I do believe in the moral values and hope that comes from traditional religion. But you can't ignore science, it benefits us and it also allows us humans understand what we can, at the level we can. Traditional religion woulden't believe in redshift but they would bet anything a microwave would cook their food. The same people that tell us we can't understand god have an entire layout of what he has done and claim it's true.

I have never seen or heard a church that preches god doing in ways of science, rather than a way we can't understand.

It's like come on! God gave us the ability to reason. What if these old religions were made up to keep the society managable (do good, punished for bad, hope, etc.) and the people who made them died and they never said it was a lie. I wonder why people believe something like, "believe this and live a happy eternity in heaven, Or don't and when you die, you live in the most horrible place you can't even imagine forever". Would god really punish us that much for being open minded and believing anything outside the bible?

    not problem for me...

but then again i like to point for other thinks, and that are all the theorys ,can not point to first point begin,a real first time, without any material ,and how does all the material cam e from--where they all m+e came from, any other option will make this point for not first (zero ) point of time..

and then again if you will look for the sky you will look and see that the material is almost endless...

other point i am missing,is that why the universe has enough energy to keep him the same way he is(thinks how many nuclear energy you need to keep only one small sun--and this is sure that nuclear bomb -is not enough energy -to let the unverse stay the way he is today....so what is the missing energy...

this is the probleam if you look the science and religion, and god question are enter for this issue, and i am thinks that this is wrong ,to do connection at this point..
since religion should been coming by faith and not by prove, and the seicnce and Medicine should not been in the same thread...

Science and religion often conflict. Close minded individuals such as archaeologist are found in religions other than Christianity.

The Big Bang theory poses the notion of an origin to the universe. The older steady state theory had the notion that there was no beginning.

Religions that consider or revolve about the idea of reincarnation have a problem with a universe that has origins. I've read material in which these religions attack the Big Bang theory due to the conflict with their beliefs. I even saw a booth set up in DC.

Archaeologist is not alone in dismissing evidence to suit their particular vanities.
