I have decided to return to the faith of my youth.

I hope nobody gets upset at this, but I’ve been thinking about this for a long time. Like many of you, I’ve wrestled back and forth between rational thought and faith. But, sometimes, we just need something to believe in.

This isn’t totally blind faith. Although I just “know” that He is there for me, I have personally seen him come through time and time again. He has rewarded me for being a good person and following Him. The only time He hasn’t been there for me is when I stopped believing in Him. I know there are consequences for being bad. These are real consequences and I want no part of it.

In the times that I doubted, I am reminded of His goodness through the joy I see in others who also believe. I am reminded of the gifts that he has in store for me if only I will receive them. Even after I had left Him, the many songs of joy that had previously reminded me of Him still gave me inspiration to know that He is watching me at all times and that He still cares.

Have I seen Him personally? No. But that is not important. I’ve seen the results of His work. Can I prove that He exists? No. But, I don’t have to. I have faith that He will soon return. I am tired of all of the people that have tried to convince me otherwise. They don’t know Him like I do.

So, today I profess that I DO believe in Santa Claus!

And, there’s no point in trying to argue with me!

P.S. Be sure to send me a great Christmas gift, or you may be forever punished with a lump of coal in your stocking. Here’s a hint. I like cash.

    With thanks to Finallyfreefromfaith

A logician saves the life of a tiny space alien. The alien is very grateful and, since she's omniscient, offers the following reward: she offers to answer any question the logician might pose. Without too much thought (after all, he's a logician), he asks: "What is the best question to ask and what is the correct answer to that question?" The tiny alien pauses. Finally she replies, "The best question is the one you just asked; and the correct answer is the one I gave."

Hmph. Here I was getting all teary-eyed at your confession of religious relapse, and it's all for Santa Claus!?!

    I'm joking. i wasn't really getting teary-eyed.

Personally, I kind of like the tooth fairy. I always imagined her as a pretty little thing.
