Curly brown hair, brown eyes and a largish nose seem a bit likely since these are jewish norms. As for skin color that is more difficult to know for certain, but it doesn't seem likely that he could have been really dark in color, but it is just as unlikely that he could have been really light in color either. Location doesn't really help that much because the Middle east has both dark and light colors represented. There really isn't any reason to suppose that Jesus deviated from current Jewish norms, which is fairly light skinned. Not that any of this really matters in the slightest.
The Bible is rather devoid of mention of skin color. I have heard rumors that it speaks of the wife of Moses being dark in color but I have been unable to find this reference. If true it would at least suggest that most of the Jews were lighter in color at that time.
AFAIK the only biblical hint is his hair likened to lamb's wool.
I'd guess Jesus not relatively white for the reason that in most recorded history regardless of region relatively fair skin was remarkable and praised (especially in females).
Egypt had long standing caste structures keeping various groups apart, and since Jesus was born under the shadow of Egypt, and his parents soon immigrated and fit in somehow, I think you'd best search there.
In any case Jesus was a career showman so he would have used scents and pigments, theatrical hairdo... he was an "anointed one" dripping head to foot with radiance, whatever that was. Jesus was shiny.
Unless part of the show was about being mundane.Jesus was shiny.
He would look pretty much any other middle eastern revolutionary.
He could possibly have been of African descent. There were some Africans (Numidian? I can't find the reference) which were so impressed with the Israelites in the old testament that they converted. I can't find the reference, but I think it involved Solomon and a (Numidian?) queen.
That would also be consistent with Pong's comment about hair like lamb's wool.
Well kind of like this.Originally Posted by AkirA

Well if you were to think about the exactlocation that the Bible depicts Jesus to live and inhabit, he would most likely be medium tan, have curly, brown hair, a beard or some form of facial hair.
Blue. Like a smurf.
After being nailed up on a cross in the hot relentless sunshine for a while, probably Bright red.
Seriously, if he was middle eastern then his appearance would be as of any modern arb from that area.

It's just, all his miracles and lots fo his identity were stolen from other sources, calling into question who wrote the bible and why, and when.
My current avatar is the front cover of a collection of Asimov short stories called I Robot. I own a copy. I grew up with it in the house, but nobody knew where it came from. When I finally read it, I loved it and have been a diehard Sci-fi fan ever since.Originally Posted by Absum!
