Religiously speaking, can Obama be the Achrist?
I personally don't think so, but then again, what do I know?
There is some talk about this on the net. But then again, if
one does not believe in a G-d, then religion would be last
on their list of things to do. But G-d aside, change is now
happening as the whole world follows after him. And he
does want to bring peace in the whole world. Also I like
Obama and am glad that he is President.

I like Obama too. I voted for him. It is impossible to really know what to expect when it comes to what is supposed to be a Biblical prophecy. I think we can evalute much more meaningfully in regards to an historical example like Hitler. In that case we can ask ourselves how such a person came to power in a democratic country. But in that case at least, I think it is clear that Obama is not the type. I think we should always be cautious and watch carefully, in any case.

Obama represents a great deal of hope for a lot of people. After so many years with such depressing prospects for the future it is hard to believe anymore that something good can actually happen. I don't think a president has been elected with this much optimism and hope for the future since John F. Kennedy and we all know what happened that time.

i think the word "antichrist" has been used so many times that it's lost something of its lustre, since more often than not it's been used to designate someone you don't like the looks of
now ask yourself : without reference to any particular person, could you describe how you would recognise the antichrist ?

How? Obama is a Christian. Besides, how exactly would he be the Antichrist? He's certainly not displayed any evil tendencies so far, and wants to end the war in Iraq. I would say the AntiChrist would be the exact opposite.

He would have these characteristics: plausible, inspiring, trustworthy, honest, visionary, passionate, committed, empathetic, engaged, etc.

Just like all the great conmen, only orders of magnitude more convincing.

    Hmmm, I wonder.

I hope he is NOT the Achrist but he seems to be looking a lot like it.

The Anti-Allah? now thats funny :P

If he grows a mustache (spelling?) we can take that as a warning sign.

No but if he starts blaming one group of people for all our problems (like a lot of people in this forum do), that would certainly be a very significant warning.

But Obama has been pushing bipartisan cooperation and compromise from day 1 so I say that he is not the type.

    How can Obama be anti-Christ?

Christ was also trying to bring a 'change' from the chauvinist nature of the jewish establishment and they had him crucified.

Obama, at least succeeded in his attempt so far. But we have to wait and see how well he does bring change.
My idea of change is in the politics, not the color. So far, I would say he is doing a good job.

I doubt it. He's certainly the symbol of change & hope in so many ways but to dub him the Achrist is expecting too much of him.
