You lose sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. Your memory is reduces to containing 0% of the information stored and lose brain function. No ability to think.

you obtain a destination according to a combination of what one deserves and desires, whether that be amongst the animal, insect or plant kingdoms, amongst humans or into the sphere of liberation from the whole material scene altogether.

Nothing. You fade out of consciousness and never return from it. All that stays behind are the memories of you inside those you encountered on your path. Also, the impression you made on those people affected their views on some things and the way they act, depending on the size of the impression. So a part of you stay behind in a very real sense, but your mind is gone forever.

yes, that about sums it up
all the more reason to make the most of your time on earth, and maybe contribute so that people will remember you fondly once you've died

Nobody knows of course but people find it hard to live with such an in-your-face
unknown, so they comfort themselves with different answers. Some comfort
themselves with the thought of sweet oblivion where all their problems cease to
exist. Others comfort themselves with the thought that all the despicable people
that they have known will be burning in an ever-lasting fire. Others comfort
themselves with the thought that they will be on an eternal Sunday morning
worship service, singing hymns and praise songs forevermore.

Oblivion is fine with me, but what if not? Hamlet's soliloqy with "to sleep
perchance to dream" is what haunts me. For what if I do continue to exist and I
create my own reality, then what kind of reality will I create? I think that this
would be a more devious version of what terrifies people most -- a kind of
complete blackness or emptiness like being in a sensory deprivation tank, all
alone with only themselves for company and not a single thing to distract them
from the enormous poverty of their own reality.

To be honest there are that many things so I'll just say I don't know. But from a living perspective, then yes the worms will have their revenge.

You die, but people keep referring to you. You continue to exist. Were you ever in control?

    No hope then ?

Strange for me to comprehend though. Let's say I live to be 95 years old (wishful thinking) in terms of time, that isn't even a grain of sand on all the beaches in the world compared to the vastness of time ! So those diddly few years of consciousness then...
