This type of shit really bothers me. When those who are incapable of getting along and are prejudice against people who don't think like them.

I understand the irony. Being Anti-Theist is hating Theists. But I do not hate them for their belief like they hate us for our beliefs. I hate them based on their actions towards us. We are a minority group and we suffer prejudice every day based on it. The majority of Atheists are afraid to "come out of the closet" so to speak to avoid getting ostracized. It sickens me.

Am I stupid enough to think all religious ppl are atheist haters?

    No.

Am I stupid enough to think that all atheists are theist haters?

    No.

This post seems to suggest you are... please tell me you have been too hasty in what you have written...

Fair enough if you don't like christians who are nasty towards you. But to dislike them all for the actions of a few is rediculous.

verzen. Theists are people who believe in an almighty all powerful God, they believe this God will one day either save them, or throw them to eternal hell. They believe that they are saving people, saving the couple who are in fear, at least in the way they think they are. I know God may not be real and in your eyes He is nothing at all, just a delusion. But these people believe in this delusion and that makes them the way they are, they can never change themselves.

Take that into your mind. They are choosing hell damnation or salvation. The atheists in this video don't and never will understand that, thats because thats who they are. Just as the theists described in this video don't understand the atheists. Now I'm not taking anyones side here, my heart goes out to these atheists. I personally think it is outright ridiculous of this school to devote most of the time to Bible study. More approriately call it 'indoctrination'. And it is, no doubt about it. Not to mention the prejudices of general theists described in this video.

But I don't think this one event should turn you into an 'anti-theist'. Hitler was an 'anti-Jew' and we all know what he did.

But I do not hate them for their belief like they hate us for our beliefs.
You are very noble for not hating them for their belief given what you have experienced, even better than those who are supposed to be religious and follow that thoroughly', but I don't think that they hate atheists either. When I used to be more, 'passionate' about my beleifs I did not personally understand athiests, or agnostics. I wanted to get them to beleive as I did. But more importantly it was a teenage issue. That fact itself is a HUGE influence on our beliefs. Just ask anyone who is older and they will tell you what you think and believe at that age is totally different as you get older. For instance myself just a year ago I was a devout thiest. But now I'm an agnostic theist. I realised that getting 'passioante' about this sort of thing is trivial.

I hate them based on their actions towards us. We are a minority group and we suffer prejudice every day based on it.
I know you do. You and all atheists who experience this must be very frustrated, to say the least. And I swear to you I'd love to talk to these people that look down on atheists and teach them what their Bible really says, and compare them to it. Show them it is full of discrepincies, they wouldn't listen. They never will. Like any beleif with something people don't want to hear, they take the 'ignorance is bliss'option.

The majority of Atheists are afraid to "come out of the closet" so to speak to avoid getting ostracized.
You have to if you believe that is what must happen. 'Come out of the closet', fight those who oppose you. I know you'd get millions of supporters from theists who should understand your predicaments. They will because they're religion says they should, and people aren't as blind as you think, if I can understand, so can any other person.

But on a final note, I must forward this to you. You must not, above all else, hate a group of people for what they do to you. You get persecuted for your beliefs. it says that in their Bible about the same thing but to themselves. If you allow yourself to hate people you will drive everyone away and your life will be full of negative emotions and that will hurt you more and more and more. So you tell me, if they are causing that, who is the real 'evil' one?

PS, on a personal note. I think it's sick. Absolutley disgusting. How dare they treat atheists in that way.

It isn't just to avoid getting ostracised. A colleague of mine recently told me that he is an atheist, and he celebrates christmas. To me, that is not logically possible, so I concluded that he doesn't actually know what an atheist is. I may be wrong.

There are also lots of people who are brought up in places like the one in the video you linked to, who are not aware they are allowed to make a choice on this issue. All their family, neighbours, schoolfriends, everyone they know is religious and it just never occurs to them to wonder whether they are allowed to make a choice for themselves, or if they do wonder there is no room in their social order for such a choice to be made.

They are religious by default rather than by choice and these people I really feel sorry for. And this happens in a country where they value their constitution that grants them personal freedoms that millions of people deny to their own family. Just exactly how genuinely religious are the parents who foist this on their family, and deny them the right to choose?

But then again, as 425 Chaotic Requisition said, from the point of view of those parents they see themselves as saving their children and preparing them for redemption. I can easily see how those parents tell themselves that denying their children the right to choose the everlasting fires of hell is the best thing they can possibly do for their children.

The way I look it is, when I go in a bar there is a whole multitude of things I can choose to drink, and in some bars they have two or three dozen beers. That's because different people like different things, and just because a guy drinks Budweiser instead of Pabst doesn't actually make him a bad person.
Everything the laws of the universe do not prohibit must finally happen.

Yes you are, or that you don't understand the pagan festival that is the winter solstice. Adopted by christianity.

I hate people who look for excuses to hate other people. I don't like people who look for reasons to see themselves as better than other people. (Therefore, there are a lot of Christians that I don't like because they see their being Christian as an accomplish in their life -- a reason to look down on all the losers. These Christians really turn my stomach because they make a Christianity a mockery and a sham.) BUT I will look for reasons and excuses to love these people because I don't believe that I am better than they are. Perhaps they are not aware of what they are doing when they look for excuses to hate or see themselves as better than others, and if that is the case, then I cannot really I be sure that I am not doing the same thing.

But it is for this reason that I challenge the idea that theists and atheists are really as different as people make them out to be.
