I think that Star Trek movies need better storylines. Don't get me wrong though, the previous Star Trek movies are written by excellent writers', especially when it came to Star Trek: Nemesis. However, what Star Trek needs to do now is to climax or emphasize more on what would be more of an extraordinary movie. I have a few ideas: I'd bring back Species 8472, the Borg, and the omnipotent one known as "Q." If perchance that they wanted to get rid of TNG cast, they could easily work a story out and pass the ball to Voy. Kinda like they did in Generations.

Getting back to what I was saying... Species 8472 and the Borg are not completely out of the picture. Needless to say on what Voyager did. 8472 and the Borg are relentless in all aspects. I think the storyline from Scorpion should resume. But this time, "an all out invasion." They could some how bring fourth an armada of 8472 from fluidic space. As for the Borg, does "cockroaches" ring a bell? -- HA! Good luck getting rid of them cybernetic creatures. The plot would be basically, 8472 would try to eliminate the Alpha Quadrant; the Borg would try to (as always...) assimilate what ever they can. And of course, the Federation would try to stop them. Sounds like a likely story. But hell, it sounds awesome if it were playing on a cinema. = )

Of course also, to change a few of the obvious things around. A little adaptability here, a little of something unexpected there. Well, you get the picture. That's just a few ideas I was thinking about.

Anyone else have some intriguing ideas?

EDIT: And what about "Q" in amongst of all of this... ? Well you know Q, being contemptuously rude to the Captains of course ; 0 ...

I agree, the startrek movies are pretty good but they lack storyline and suspense. It's all so clean, it doesn't do much with me. For example, "Dune" had a pretty strange storyline at times and the characters are really empty, but it did succeed in pulling me into the movie. You know that scene where the Harkonen chief kills a woman by letting her blood run out of her hart? Really blunt, but at least it brings up some emotion for the viewer.

Startrek should be less like the a-team (bullets are allways missed, nobody really dies) and more like Dune or Alien. Well, just a bit

For now, Hollydud is basically out of ideas. It seems the accountants have such a hold on the studios that they can't seem to come up with good story lines. Witness the lastest round of offerings for movies this year so far. We have Bewitched, Herbie, War Of The Worlds, and on and on. But nowhere here do you see original story lines. No suprises for movie goers.

This hasn't just started this year. It is an on going problem and their bottom line is showing it. It has been a steady downward slump with a few exceptions. Those exceptions being movies like the final episode of Star Wars, the Mel Gibson movie "The Passion Of Christ" and similar few. Of course they have the old pirates that they use as a scapegoat but if they were rid of p2p and downloading tomorrow it still would not bring back the movie goers without something more interesting to offer.

I guess as long as CEO's are getting bundles of money and benefits for laying off people instead of getting paid in relation to what they actually contribute this will remain a problem.

If they're going to make a new movie, get a new crew. That way you can kill off characters.

It should center around a time ship. I think it'd be cool to see a time ship.

Or even something to do with the Dominion wars.

Set it years in the future after all of the star trek series. Like 3000 AD. The Starship enterprise is about to leave our galaxy for another and discover whatever.. lol. See this is why I don't write.

I think it's about time that we see the beta quadrant. We've seen enough of the alpha quadrant; we saw the delta quadrant in Voyager and the gamma quadrant in DS9.... but still no beta quadrant.

They should go to the Imega Quadrant. By doing that you release an evil onto the universe no one has ever seen. Thus everyone dies, the Star Trek is over.
