    Hello

Since 5 years ago, i started to write sci-fi, cosmic horror and psychological terror stories, inspired by The Outher Limits, Asimov, N. Kozyrev, Gregory Benford, Lovecraft, and personal experiences, etc.

But they are in spanish. Knows you any translator appropiate for translating literature?
Knows you any site where i could participate in a contest to publish in spanish?

    thanks

You could publish it yourself through Lulu.com or Amazon (and maybe others). Aren't there more Spanish speakers in the world than English? It may be worth waiting to translate it if/when it is a success.

Where are you situated? If in the US, isn't there a Latin-American version of the NAACP? They might have dedicated development programs for this kind of thing. Otherwise, aren't there publishing houses in your country?

I live in Perú (South America). Publishing Houses wouldn't be interested in sci-fi. Very few people buy sci-fi novels. Most buy Garcia Marquez, Paulo Coehlo, etc. Another problem is piracy, almost every successful book is 'masively' sold in the form of illegal copies.

Im sure my stories are very original, because i read non conventional authors. Also collect movies like Lost Highway (David Lynch), The White Ribbon (Michael Haneke), The Ghost Writer (Polansky).
How i can be sure that virtual publishing houses follows an strict copyright policy, and my book will not appear published with an author other than me?.

I'm sure they have policies that enable copyright owners to have stolen work taken down.

    bezoar:
even if your puplisher doesn't pirate your work
    someone else will

most of my best work has been copied

have you ever downloaded a song
    or copied a cd
    or used "loaned" software
    ................
this sort of activity is a constant
and if your work is any good
it will happen to you too

    however
I once took a pirate to court for copying work of mine without using my name nor getting my permission
    didn't get any $
but got 50(or so) worthless poorly made copies of what i considered a minor work
which i then had to pay to be destroyed(these days, i'd probably sell them cheap on e-bay)

i found the court process a stupid waste of my time and money
(but felt good about winning and having the judge order their business shut down)

if you want to have access to this action through the courts
keep all your notes and drafts
    and file for copyright
here in USA it is up to a judge, and just mailing myself dated and witnessed pictures of my work was adaquate to prove that mine was the original

I agree with sculptor. I have had some of my work pirated as well. The best thing you can do is get a copyright for your material also do a "poor man's" copyright. Place a copy of your manuscript in an envelope and mail it to yourself. Keep it unopened in a safe place. The date of mailing can prove that it was yours before someone else copied it.
