Well I want to built a light saber but I got JUST ONE PROBLEM...
HOW DO YOU MAKE IT KEEP ITS ORIGINAL LEGHT... I mean... How do you prevent from the laser to be 30 yards long ??? I want my light saber to be 13/16 of a yard!!! Not 30 yards long...

I think you might want to talk to a magician on this one.
But those magicians CHARGE WAY TO MUCH...
use the force?
maybe this will help:
http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/lightsaber.htm
Well that is a good one... Know I just need those cromo thingyies
I think you can build a light saber
But the only way for a reflecting laser is to have a substance efficient at Deflecting the laser and at the same time be able withstand the power of it. But it wont be the same light saber in Star wars
You have much to learn my young padawans.

HAHAHA.. I wonder why he needs it?
I found another link

Oh gosh, I kept looking, see this:

no....
I am so going to use it in my fencing class
YES!!! I am making one....
Not that I don't already have one...
I have discovered a way to focus the energy comeing out of my lightsabor and ristrict the length of the beam. i used a focusing christal made of diamond. this magnifies the light and turnes it into a deadly beam, and also shortens the distance of the beam to about 1.3 meters.
can it slice and toast bread at the same time?Originally Posted by Scifinerd43
I guess so i havent really tried that. it can cut through concrete, and melt steel
MY force sensors tell me that with the aid of a few future predicting crystals we may have another davince on our hands
if u want to build 1 u need very strong arms and adamantium strength and adamantium material for it (in x-men is indestructable)
u also need the force to provide u with infinite amouts of energy
(ask the emperor he has the tesla handszzzzz)
so u go energy for force and plasma
need a singularity to pull back the plasma
need a eregrosphere to shoot out the plasma
strong arms cos the singularity gonna be heavy
adamantium cos u dont want everything to be sucked in huh?
think i read this somewhere except for somethigns i added
i think wiki or howstuffworks
Here's an Idea. Perhaps you could direct the temporary energy caused by the massdensity in the handle, through isolating the source of the massenergy transform, from the mono(or bi-) directional pathways in the source, but not the other way around, just like you let solar light into a house, but don't let out the heat. The energy, would ofcourse turn into mass after traveling only so and so far. And it would require that there was a massenergy transform.
Any thoughts on this?
I would really like to know something about lightsabres I've never understood. I've never understood how they got lightsabre blades to appear on screen, match the movements of the handles perfectly, with no apparent animation jerkiness and obviously without the benefit of computers.
Years ago I did see a "Making of" when they talked about fixing glass rods to the handles to a) allow lightsabres to clash and b) provide a reference for the optical effects guys. And they showed the black screen from which they took the lightsabre blades, flashing around on their own, from which they matted them onto the actual scene. Frustratingly however, it was obvious to me that the black screen version was just as "magic" as seeing them on screen.
So how was it done? Does anybody actually know the specific techniques involved?
They actually hand painted the lightsaber blades onto each frame in the original three movies. If you look at the original three movies, you'll notice that the lightsaber blades "flicker" and change shape a lot more than in the latter movies, since the originals were painted on and the latter were done by a computer.Originally Posted by Silas
If you want to shine a laser and see the end of the beam stop 'dead' then all you need do is make a laser, blow some smoke through it and stand a metre or so away from a black hole, the laser light will dissappear at the event horizon! (shortly before you do...). - easy eh?.
So the Darth Vader mask was caused by excesive smoking I presume?
Also, it must be very stressfull to be so near a black hole, that would explain the smoking in itself.
Oh, and you must stopp posting now megabrain, as 8 is a lucky number. PM instead! Perhaps you'll sell the megabrain userright to some chinese, ey? Would be cool!
uh? - lucky number? - no basis in science whatsoever - superstitious mumbo-jumbo my friend!Originally Posted by LeavingQuietly
Definitely, but the chinese would pay good!
Can you believe there is a guy at mathisfun that has 5000 posts?
