If you are a fan of SF this book is for you, as it was written as an homage to you.

Basic plot line: In a future that has become so anti-technology that even reading Science Fiction is a crime, a group of underground SF fans set out to rescue a group of the only remaining space colonists that have crash landed on Earth. Chock full of references to classic SF and SF fandom.

The heated mind resents the chill touch & relentless scrutiny of logic"-W.E. Gladstone

This thing was basically a love letter to fans, but for participants in this board I think that the main appeal is the strong anti-Luddite stance that all of the main characters take. I would think that anyone who likes fiction and is interested in science will find something inspiring in this book.
