If the world ends at 12-21 2012, doesn't the Chinese die before we get to die?

Since the time is set by GMT and is acc to rotation of earth. But, on absolute scale (leaving relativistic effects), if the world goes, it goes at one time in one single bang.

obviously disaster will only strike for those using the US date format, since in europe there just isn't a 21st month

Unless we can figure out an exact time when this will occur, then this probably is not a valid end to the world.

I believe it is obvious that this has nothing to do with astronomy. Although Galileo Galilei practised astrology times have moved on...... and this has been moved to pseudoscience.

Some are all getting ready for this "end of the world". We shouldn't judge based on our opinions. We may think we can predict the future but truth is we can't. For all we know the world could end on 2012. Just being Devil's Advocate here.

If the world shall see its end then I do not want to know about except to say "I hope I accumplish something before that happens" which is exactly what I have to say about my death, ironicly I don't want to be known after death or for much moring so I guess I will have to contrubiute to something no cares about, which is fine by me. Wow I guess that is probably not the right place to say all that but it seemed as convient as any and I agree with Ophiolite on this being in Pseudoscience
sorry I was gone so long, there are just to many undereducated people here I did not want to add to the problem but I am going to anyway

Little off topic here...oh well. I am still in High School but all I want to do before I die is help benefit or further mankind, not just society. If you know what I mean.

I'll have just finished my final exams for my second-to-last semester of college. How depressing.

I don't believe in this "end of the world" crap though, so that's fine by me.

Probably but we're all agreed on this matter anyway. Nothing left to argue unless somebody enlightens us on a new perspective.

And that's why I didn't seek the creation of a sub-forum on common sense and move the thread there.

The Dooms Day Theory, came from the belief of learnered men in the 8th and 9th centurys, which were English Monks, and other advisers to the King. That the world would end in the year 1000 A.D. , this was due from the efforts of transcribing the Holy Scriptures, to Old English.
Of which the Popes of Rome, were against. Around the time of Harold I, (b. 989, d.1040), son of Canute, and Harold II, (b. 1022?- d.1066) the last Saxon King of England.

Roman Catholic Priests in England, being the eyes of the Holy See, and his henchmen could not stop, the Scriptures from being written in English. The Monks of Glasstonbury, were aware of the new earth age, from Scriptures. But it did not prevent the mis-interpretation, of the Advent of Christ's return, on or about 1000 A.D.

Rome had to put a stop to these efforts, to maintain control of mens teachings and knowledge. It did not take much convincing by the Pope, to make a Duke, into a King. When the Duke of Normandy, William I, (b. 1027?-d. 87) invaded England, defeated and killed Harold II, in the Battle of Hastings, and with the Popes blessings, William I, became King of England (1066-87), aka. (William the Conqueror).

It was under Williams decree, that all English land owners, names and all property of value, were recorded in The Book of Judgement, called the Dooms Day Book, which taxed all property, making William and Rome richer. But it did not stop the Scriptures from being transcribed and copied, and read in England, right up to King James I, and the Authorized Version of 1611.

The Holy Scriptures, have nothing to do with the end of the world. It is God's Plan for mankind, the new earth age, and everlasting life (no death) for thoes that belive that Jesus Christ, is the son of God, and King of the Whole World !

It is the Mystery of the Holy Scriptures, the actual times appointed by God, that men have overlooked through out the ages, of Biblical and World history. The Truth is there, to seek and find. The return of Christ is closer than men want to belive, some will belive, and some won't that will be their doom.

This is not the forum to explain this, but ask and I will relate what I have learned, and you can test as true. IM me if you care too.
