atoms, electron, proton and neutron, quark (charm, strange, bottom, and top), muon, tau, muon-neutrino, tau-neutrino, electron-neutreno....ALL of those are SOME particles. my question is, why dont teachers TEACH those particles to students in high school or in middle school? dont you think that kids or teens would have a greater knowledge in the quantum mechanic area?? maybe its because its hard to explain..or maybe its because those particles arent entirely proven and are just theories.. :?: :!: [/b]

atoms, electrons, protons, neutrons and quarks are what we were taught in high school. i think the other particles are not necessary to be taught unless you are studying at university level. after all, high school is only meant to give you the basics.

Some people grasp things better at certain ages generaly speaking. Some people can learn faster than others so they look at things taught as to slow but many others like the timetables set up to learn this science for they might not be as gifted as others are. The best thing to do is take courses online for free if you want to learn more about particle physics.

Actually, my dad did learn PHD quantum mechanics courses in highschool. Phillips Exeter Academy, the hardest highschool in the world. He told me a lota the students killed themselves because there was so much pressure. I guess that's probably why they don't pressure kids into Quantum Theory at average schools lol.

i learned about all of those particles (at least learned of what they are) in physics in my junior year in high school (last school year, i'll be a senior in the fall)

oh, i kind of feel the need to say this. of course i learned of atoms, electrons, protons and neutrons the year before in chemistry.
