Organisms are complex forms of matter; merely intricate structures. Humans are organisms. When we look into a mirror we know what we are looking at; or at least we think we do.

As humans' intelligence evolves we gain a more comprehensive understanding of our existence; however I believe we are still juvenile in our understanding of it.

I believe, perhaps, that there might be levels to perceiving existence and ourselves in relation to that existence. Perhaps one day we will have a grand schematic to existing, but for right now we are left to wonder.

Perhaps we are the great equalizers of the cosmos or perhaps life's entire purpose is not consequential at all to existence; meaning that perhaps in the overall scheme of things concerning existence we play no role or one that is so trivial that we don't matter.

I have read nothing in recent years that tells me anyone is close to figuring out the role life plays in existence.

If you think about how far we have come in 100 years or so it is amazing. As I was talking about earlier there could be levels to our understanding of existence, I guess we are approaching a new level because it is becoming abundantly clear we are starting to realize that life might play a role in existence.

I just like thinking about how we could not merely be random creations of the cosmos but instead a part of it, a part of the cosmos evolution and while our intent is unclear we are slowly starting to discover it.

We are part of the chemistry of the universe or multi-verse maybe. That is cool.

All I can think of is this: No matter how you look at it, the universe is at minmum, capable of trying to understand itself.

All that belongs to human understanding, in this deep ignorance and obscurity, is to be skeptical, or at least cautious; and not to admit of any hypothesis, whatsoever; much less, of any which is supported by no appearance of probability...Hume
