A RUSSIAN astrologer who says NASA has altered her horoscope by crashing a spacecraft into a comet is suing the US space agency for damages of $US300 million ($A401 million), local media reported today.
I'd like to see the astrologer charts that include space objects not visible to the naked eye. Even if this comet is, I think that the burden of proof will be on the nutter that claims that the comet somehow influences his/her body from space.

It can't be the comet's gravity... the gravitational attraction of the cashier at Walmart far exceeds even that of the Moon on a customer. So the far less massive comet would have no gravitational impact.

It can't be the comet's electromagnetic spectrum: this has been studied at length and anything abnormal would have been noticed.

But the suit itself, while fully grounded in a pseudoscientific notion (astrology), will cost the court system of Russia time and money.

'It is obvious...' said Marina Bai. No, sorry dear, it's far from that. Of course, astrology being a predictive 'art', and there being no control in this experiment, means it's impossible to prove that her predictions would have come true, and now won't, because we only have the changed position (and then only really slightly changed (slowed by 0.0001 mm/s)) to work with, and cannot determine if new outcomes are less favourable. (assuming there was anything in astrology of course, which she'll first have to establish) Of course, she should have seen the change coming if she was any good, ....

Astrological Ephemeris are notoriously inaccurate anyway, so I wonder what's she's basing her predictions on? NASA Ephemeris?

The idea that this "rape" of her religion can be fixed by 300 million is ridiculous. This better be thrown out!

If Russia goes along with this if I was NASA I'd never pay - completely ridiculous!!

I wonder if she's a Libra. Maybe I can turn it into a class action. Who's with me?

If she's right, how come she couldn't have predicted the comet's explosion?
