    Dears,

I am investigating a way to make an engine that can run continuously. Currently, my result is so positive.

    1. Tools and facilities:
    - The main component of this model is a wooden toy with dragonfly shape. Its head is a rectangle which is curved upward, with long tail
    - A sharp pillar
    - A medium sizes magnet (In attached screenshot it is the round and black piece)
    - A tiny magnet

    2. Model
    - Stick the tiny magnet under the tail of dragonfly shaped specimen. The gravity of magnet makes this specimen settles down toward the tail.
    - Then, touch the sharp peak of the rectangle head of the specimen very slightly into the top of the pillar. It makes the balance status of this dragonfly toy is very unstable. It is very easy to drop down as seen in attached screenshot
    - Put the medium sized magnet at the base of the pillar so that its upward pole is the same as the downward pole of the tiny one (i.e. south to south, or north to north), and they are face to face as shown in attached screenshot
    - Keep the whole system in an insolated room, with all doors and windows are closed to prevent air wing influence.

    3. Operation:
    - The attraction force between 2 magnets makes the tail of the specimen is pulled down slightly, before it is up again. Then a new period starts with the up and down movement of the specimen tail, again and again etc.
    - The position of the medium sized magnet is adjustable so that it can give best result to the movement of the specimen. If the distance between magnets is so far, the force intensity is so weak to result in movement. Otherwise, the strong attraction force from the medium sized will also prevent the specimen from moving.

I let my model there overnight to make sure that there is no stopping. And luckily it does not stop until now.

I post my article here so that any interesting individual can follow and replicate my experiments.

All of my expectation that you can contact me and replicate my experiment

Non-stop engine = perpetual motion machine = pseudoscience.

In this case, the toy is so lightweight, it would be a novelty, but it wouldn't power anything. Perhaps calling it an "engine" was a flaw.

Maybe i did not use correct work here. All I want to say here is my model has a non stop movement. I can create work or not, I don't know. Is it posible to let this magnet move inside a conductor to generate current?

No, it isn't. The energy is going into it's movement. If you try to generate current, the energy will go into that, instead of the movement- which you need the movement to make it work, see.

There is incorrect info in my first post. The upward pole of the medium magnet ( black and round in the screenshot) must be different from the downward pole of the tiny one (i.e. north to south, or south to north) to result in attraction force between them

Did you realise that magnets lose their magnetization after a very long time, so this may last for a very long time, but is not perpetual.

None of the perpetualists seem to realize that...

(Sorry if this is not right, but a perpetualist is my name for inventors of "perpetual" machines.)

In my own opinion there is no greater mathematical Principle than that which is x - x = 0. This shows that matter can be created from nothing as long as the total product of the matter's mass & energy equal exactly zero.
The only question is, "Where did all that antimatter go?"

    Hi Devon Keogh,

I use rare earth magnet, whose magnetization can lengthen over 26,000 years (Search in google).

Suppose that a certain perpetual machine using magnet can generate electric current. 26,000 years is very, very long in comparison with our human life age. In this case we have only 1 option is to apply it immediately and do not worry about its stopping in our life, regardless it is really perpetual or not

What would be great is if you could connect your engine to a house lamp.
You could then use your non-stop engine to light your home: think of the money you would save.

After that, you could sell it to the developed world as a cheap source of energy.
There is no-one here who wouldn't want to buy a source of unlimited energy.

You could then take the profit from those sales and send your machine out to 3rd world countries free of charge (no pun intended).
Think of the difference your engine could have on the struggling peoples of the world.

And with an unlimited supply of energy, there would be no need to argue about nuclear power stations; no need to squabble over coal/gas reserves; no more wars over oil.
Your engine is probably the first big step towards world peace and possibly the most important discovery in modern times.

    Thank you

This experiment is done by me in leisure time. Actually it's just for fun. To be successful in this, finally, does not make me famous or being rich.

You introduced the idea as a toy- is it an actual toy you saw that made you wonder if it could be scaled up- or a toy you designed?

    Not clear about your question.

I bought the dragonfly toy, the magnets, etc..in market. Then, I made this hands-on job by myself

I send you the clip I posted in youtube for reference

Do you NOT want to end world poverty AND get rich at the same time?

If you prefer, you can give away all your earnings to charity and simply focus on ending world poverty...

Ending poverty requires a paradigm shift in our mindset, not our power plants.

I dont see the validity of this, how much did the magnet cost?
What material is it made from?

P.S. 26000 years is still not perpetual and this is not creating energy, merely converting it from one form to another. It would actually lose energy in this conversion and so shorten the life span of the magnet as well.

I guess I was relying on the common held belief that free energy would eventually end world poverty.

I agree though, that any major change to the world's economy would require an equally major change in how people think and behave - but the assumption is that free energy would cause that shift in mind-set.

Here is an article on the subject:
GreenGold: If Energy Were Free and Unlimited…
The correlation between energy consumption and standard of living is strong. Everything that we use consumes energy to be produced and transported. For example, energy represents roughly 50% of ocean shipping cost and 40% of aluminum production cost. Impoverished people would have more food to eat and cleaner water, their homes would become more comfortable, and the price of almost everything they buy would go down instantly, boosting their quality of life.
And fusion power - which is considered to be so cheap as to be almost free - is often touted as solving world poverty:
Fusion power: is it getting any closer? | Environment | The Guardian
...save humanity from climate change, oil wars and the poverty and underdevelopment caused by ever-higher energy costs.
But I am not sure how much research has gone in to exactly how free energy will affect world poverty.

Overcoming human nature is not often accomplished by making something 'free'.

Economic theories take human nature in to account.
