The Canadian National Newspaper: Scientists confirm Extraterrestrial genes in Human DNA

Make of it what you will but there is a lot of scientist in their claiming that their work is being surpressed.

Are you sure. I checked a few and couldn't find any scientific publications---meaning they probably aren't scientist.

It's rather entertaining though. I think I have some of that DNA because I'm typing this without my hands--just thinking about it.

that's usually the response of the pseudoscientist or the conspiracy theorist - proper scientists may grumble when one of their papers gets rejected for publication, but their response is to try and get it published elsewhere

This article is just a long series of claims without any supporting references or evidence whatsoever. Complete hogwash.
Also, on a very basic level, how would we recognize whether a part of a given genome was terrestrial in origin or not ? In the absence of extraterrestrial DNA samples we don't have a frame of reference to compare it with, and chemically it must be identical as otherwise it couldn't be compatible.
Comments anyone ? Any geneticists here ?

The only way a DNA sequence could be considered to be of alien origin is if it was discovered to have a coded textual message within it (I think people have actually looked for such things). Chemically there would be nothing different, it would have to be the information that was different in the sense that the information was non-biological - for example: a production code, manufacture date, a "hello world!" message, a hidden text or something. Anything else would look no different from any other generic gene. The only other scenario I can imagine would be to find genes that have no history; that is, can be demonstrated to have not evolved, but appeared suddenly. There are no examples of this.

If the 20 alien genes did exist it would be a simple matter to link to their sequences in the online human genome databases; the article presented zero data. It's just a weird form of space-Intelligent Design promoted by some very odd characters.

You would also need the alien genes as a reference for comparison.

Couldn't get the link to work, so googled it. The exo-scientists look as though they may be the aliens! There is fact in what they assume. This involves The Theory of Panspermia, where many different alien species are sent to populate eligible planets. As far as focusing the collaberative collective consciousness, look up "The Global Conscious Network" where it is being proven that simalar thought patterns of a group of people can have different convincing outcomes. Psycho-kinetic abilities and an adrenal rush don't necissarily have alot to do with each other, that may be a reach, as a frightful moment may induce strength or a stronger thought, but mostly psycho-kinetics have been judged to be most effective within calm states of mind. Regardless, it has been a shared view by many that E.T.s, and with the knowledge of being one, walk among us. I say, easily possible in such a primitive moment in human development!

    Again, cause you say so...
It's all pseudoscince that has always been lacking in facts, and evidence.

As I have stated, ALL science was once pseudoscience, and ALL the great scientists were mocked and frowned upon. That is, until the truth comes out to the general public, or tell me, Is the Earth still flat?

But you seem to be very good at hanging on to pseudoscience, instead of real science.

Not ALL the great scientists were frowned upon. At least not by scientists. Such a blanket statement belies your ignorance and agenda.

You don't like pseudoscience, then get out of it! Noone need prove your bad attitude towards science you don't understand. Why don't you do a little study first, before throwing the "your ignorance" statements around! Recently, it seems my "agenda" has been to educate a meteoroid!

Actually, it is the duty of all scientists to fight and dispute pseudoscience, so that those who might be fooled are not misled.

    Again, another username distortion.

A am Meteor Wayne. Any other way of addressing me is disrespectful, and on boards I've moderated in the past would have required a correction, or resulted in a banning. They (fortunately for you) are more leniant here.

Didn't mean to hurt your feelings, was just a joke. I'l try to be more sensitive to you from now on, because you have been SO respectful to me!

You stay on subject, so will I. Now, the way I made you feel is simalar to psycho-kinetic forces at work. just words and suggestive statements to affect a mental state, to produce a certain emotion that was predicted and anticipated by the one putting out the "mental vibe". It works practically every time. This is human manipulation, and it is used by governments and big buisness through news orginizations, commercials, other media outlets and several other means to control the mentality of the general public. Right now people in several countries believe that their country owes another country for different reasons. Right now people are unsure and unaware of the true actions taking place behind everyones back, by the elite, by the militaries, and by some other "controllers" that can't be mentioned! I can name several places around the globe where you will be instantly "detained" just for your presence! This is even beyond the "cash club", some even beyond realm of The Free Masons!

Pure meanigless word salad, my friend. Was there a simple point you were trying to make? Because if so, it was not apparent in your post. Please recall the subject of this thread.

Even pseudoscience requires some modicum of science and this is poor even by that low standard.

There may be different interpretations of what is considered an alien species. We have all been called "Children of the Sun". We are all on a spacecraft called Mother Earth, traveling through space with no way to guide, no way to judge our future path, but to assume, and noone at the controls. Our planet is being constantly bombarded with any number of different kinds of rock, ice and dust particles, any of which could contain any number of different life forms that we currently know of and probably some we have never seen or heard of. There is a definite cause for justifiable paranoia. It is the truth that some other intelligent life form may be guiding you to this transmission. So YOU may make a necessary change. The many warnings of a cataclysm are really the beginnings of a new world. The end of this coming year will be the beginning of a new one. Take from this what you may. Understanding the genetic code is only part of this beginning, and this new knowledge will bring an enlightenment for future generations to realise the way beyond current boundaries. To see a world many have only dreamed of.

    Name one.

The article reference a certain Dr Michael Salla who hilariously summarized his scientific research methodology as:
There's a lot of stuff on the Internet, and I just went around and pieced it together
source (hey, some of us a rigorous in our research and reporting)

As I believe the young folks say nowadays: a large bucket of FAIL.

Exactly. Your posts are embellished with so many meaningless words, I'm unable to determine what the point of most of them are. Try and trim out the excessive verbiage, and we might have a more fruitful discussion.

First, that is not true. What is true, is that some new ideas were not immediately accepted. Typically, it requires a weight of evidence (and perhaps a mechanism) before a new theory is generally accepted. (Neither of which pseudoscience is terribly good at.)

Second, even if it were true that "ALL the great scientists were mocked" it does not logically follow that everyone who is mocked is a great scientist.

That is the same false logic as: "All horses have four legs. My table has four legs, therefore it is a horse".

So, I exaggerate to clarify! No, I ussually do not generalize, but it was a good percentage. However, the point should be understood. Just because an idea or a belief does not fit with the status-quo, does not mean it has no substance. If it is not proven wrong it is still possible. Hence, innocent until proven guitly!

On the other hand, you shouldn't believe everything you read on the Internet. And you certainly shouldn't believe anything much you see on YooToob.

Interesting read. Like the points, couple of good counterpoints, but a few too many just trying to be critical, with no point,

This implies that you think the 'research' has some validity. If so, how do you defend it in the face of the abyssmal lack of quality, structure or integrity in the research methdology?
