I found something that scientists really need to look at:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uctj7JAwghA

    http://revelation13.net/Nostradamus.html

I found this out yesterday and I was very worried how accurate this is and whoever researched this.

Please you all must shut that thing down! Please!

This is not nonsense and I'm not going to let you shut me up!

Video on a Prophecy of French Prophet Nostradamus and the CERN LHC particle accelerator creating a Black Hole or Strangelet Doomsday for earth. Note: this video was updated to a 35 minute version in December 2009, that is also posted here.
A prophecy of French prophet Nostradamus, 9 44, may predict the CERN Large Hadron Collider LHC proton particle accelerator built near Geneva on the France Swiss border may produce a black hole or strangelet particle that could swallow earth or cause some other great disaster. Also a Book of Revelation prophecy and King James version English Bible Code matrices on this subject. RAYPOZ in Century 9 Number 44 may refer to the positive ray of the LHC. Could this be a Doomsday Machine? Could this cause the 2012 Mayan calendar destruction of earth?
Did Nostradamus warn us from 400 years ago about "nuclear physicists gone wild" creating a Doomsday Machine with the CERN LHC?
    Copyright 2008 by T. Chase.
The LHC was turned on again later in November 2009.
If there are a lot of volcanos and earthquakes later in 2010 - 2012 after CERN cranks up the LHC Black Hole Machine, then it may mean a CERN created Black Hole is eating earth's core, collapsing the earth from within as the core disappears. Nothing can be done then, if a Black Hole has been created and has gone to the center of the earth, which it will do because it is heavier than anything on earth, earth will be on its way to a Black Hole or Strangelet Doomsday within a few years, the earth's crust will crack like an egg shell. But science must go forward! This could be the cause of the prophesied December 21 2012 Mayan calendar Doomsday. I know I will be called a "kook" because of this video talking about Nostradamus, but there are respected scientists who are concerned about CERN destroying earth by creating a Black Hole or Strangelet. Read about it, search for articles on search engines by typing "Black Hole Doomsday", tell your friends and family about this.

    Right lets start with this:

"And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood'

Why would the moon turn to blood?? And why would the sun turn black if the black hole is to be created by the LHC??????

Absolute nonsense by Revelationists who have a poor grasp of particle physics (at best!) and at worst just deluded in their own false prophecy and manipulating certain biblical verse to meet their own ends.

The LHC has been on for months now! No black holes yet my friend. Sleep easy.

Look I feel the same way as you do Michael, but something doesn't feel right about this.

Sorry. But this is not science but superstition.

    Moved,
    Dishmaster.

What doesn't feel right is that you claim to have learned about this 'yesterday', yet you are embracing it with passion and commitment that suggests one of two things:
    1. You have not yet learned to be sceptical and discrimantory in your review of new ideas. There is nothing wrong with that, but we don't all have to jump off the cliff with you.
    2. You hav been studying this matter for some time and have come here with a clear agenda, which you are deceitfully concealing from us.

Neither of these options encourages us to pay any attention to you. If I am doing you a disservice please offer some evidence to demonstrate that I am wrong and to explain the anomaly highlighted in my opening sentence.

Now to the meat of the matter:
    1. Nostradamus has been wholly discredited as having predicted anything meaningful.
    2. Revelations has been wholly discredited as having predicted anything meaningful.
    3. The Mayan 2012 prophecy has been shown to have no relationship to the claims being made by doomsayers.
    4. Any black hole created by the LHC would not be heavier than anything on Earth; it would be denser than anything on Earth. That's different.
    5. Small black holes evaporate.
    6. Impact of cosmic rays with the Earth's atmosphere generates more energy than is produced by the LHC and we don't see black holes sucking in the atmosphere.

    Stop worrying.

I'm not concealing anything, but this what I expect from rude scientists like you. I was hopeing to get straight answers from you and indeed I did.

But how I'm I to believe the words you say? History shows Science get's proven wrong time and time again, sometimes they are right and sometime they are wrong.

Nevermind...I just don't understand all of this...but I just feel something isn't right. I'm sorry I bothered you all.

Please quote the part where Ophiolite was rude. I mean, don't get me wrong, he often is. But was he rude to you? Or are you just upset that he has not easily agreed with you? If that 'rudeness' has been your personal experience of scientists (and I have to wonder how many actual scientists you've spoken to) then perhaps that is because they are displaying scepticism.

Science is a method. It has never been "proven wrong", because methods do not make assertions that can be right or wrong. Methods work or they do not. We're communicating because the scientific method works. In that sense I suppose we can say that it has been "proven right", though that sounds rather silly to me.

Feeling that something isn't right is a good reason to go and find out- to know, rather than feel, whether that feeling is correct. You will find that the reliability of "feelings" is inversely proportional to the complexity of the situation. The more complicated the subject, the less likely that your instincts will be correct. Your instincts evolved to help you hunt rats and run away from predators, not to judge the risks associated with particle colliders. That's why we need the scientific method.

And honestly, if you would seek the truth in earnest, search YouTube for videos that both confirm and refute your position.

It is very difficult to explain to someone why the LHC is safe when they come in with very limited knowledge on science, and prefer to gather information from googling "doomsday 2012" rather than actually reading the LHS safety review, or even reading a book on particle physics.

    A Guest should read this:

    And hoepfully this: http://www.risk-evaluation-forum.org/LHCrisk.pdf

    I am shocked.

I am direct, vigorous, overbearing, elitist, arrogant and explicit, but surely never rude.

Early expeditions to sail the globe probably had their naysayers who, out of fear of the unknown and ignorance, claimed these ships would fall off the Earth or be eaten by monsters.

Surely 'rude' is merely someone's subjective valuation of the above traits. Just as I may say I find it endearing. Which I often do.

I was being self deprecating. (It's another of my charms.)

What was this thread about again? Do I care?

And I was playing along! This thread was about some guy's vague paranoia. What it is about now is entirely up to us.

I think we should review the role of petunias in the fall of the Romanov dynasty and its subsequent impact on the songs of Janis Ian.

    Can you smoke petunia pot-pourri?

We are scientists, thus we are compelled to try.
