Hello, I dont know how many of you have seen an UFO, but I have. ( I wouldnt like to elaborate on that). . .

May be some of you may have seen them , first hand, or on TV.

I am in awe as to their silent versatile propulsion . . .

so, what could be the possible mechanisms of propulsion of UFOs?

One could be the Quantum engine .. .but what is that!

I like the Star Trek version. Can't remeber the name, but its cool in the show!

Well they would have to overcome all the forces of gravity. Chances are something we just have not thought of yet. I'm still a little bit of a skeptic on the UFO issue, although I'm not at all on the supernatural. Again our first hand experiences go a long way.

I did once see a meteor coming in so close it lit up the entire area for many seconds...it was awesome. Bright blue color and as big as the moon. I was not the only one that witnessed it.

The propulsion mechanism of UFO's is thought. It was discovered 1000 years ago (not on this planet), that thought determines reality. ALiens have an extra circut in their brains that allows them to control matter and energy at a quantum level.

Next thread in the Physics section shall be: "How does Santa visit all those houses in one night?" and "What the hell is the tooth fairy doing with all those teeth?"

Why should the mechanism for alien propulsion fit into your neatly defined reality-tunnel? Chances are their technology would appear like magic to lower life-forms.

I've decided to move this thread to the Pseudoscience section because it does not deal with Physics in regard to scientific fact, but rather to a physics that we are not yet experienced enough in to discuss.

I feel some confidant that our limits are far more established by our deep down beliefs in those limits than we are hindered or disabled by any forces outside or inside of ourselves. when we deep down believe something cant be done, what chance do we have of doing it? when we can somehow detach ourselve from believing in things contrary to concensus we see people reaching new hights, creating and knowing things never thought possible before. I believe in magic.. ive seen it happen, ive made it happen to some extent. the enegy of doubt and self doubt kills it, but entheusiam and faith in our ability to be more, tends to make it real.. like the idea that if a person is persistant in trying to make a thought a reality it is likely theyll make some real progress in accomplishing it.

The www.disclosureproject.org has some high ranking, military witnesses which speak of covert projects dealing with antigravity, zero point energy technologies and development of alien reproduction vehicles (ARVs) called the Flux Liner.

I believe one of the witnesses had a blueprint of the "Flux Liner" or ARV on display at their press briefing. If you're interested in learning about such thing's I'd start with military witnesses and work from there.

UFOs seem powered solely by hot air.

The "hot air" of "high-ranking, ex-military" personnel; sleep-deprived police officers strung out on coffee and donuts; significance junkies; and mystery mongers. Most bent on obtaining some status or prestige among their peers; some seeking money from the willing spenders who are simply just believers in all manner of supernatural and paranormal ideas.

The hot-air is this useless response.

Sorry, I often lump inertia and such that has G-Force measurements tacked on with it to Gravity. I'm still not convinced that gravity or the force of gravity doesn't have direct ties to motion, mass and such. In other words they need to overcome gravitational pull and the effects of mass and inertia.

Feel free to add anything I've missed. Newtons laws.

In laymen's terms they can't accelerate fast enough, stop fast enough or make a change in course without becoming a bug splatter inside their ship.

Thank you so much for your self restraint.

It is comparable with that powering Tinkerbell (Peter Pan, you twit). In a similar way, every time a UFO sceptic states they do not believe in them, a UFO crashes.

Wow, so you think gravity still might have something to do with mass?

    That;

Might actually be true! Well done!

What I'd like to know is:

    1. How do they travel so far in such a tiny ship, I mean where's the food kept, the fuel, the bathrooms, the ships computers, the helm, the playrooms etc., etc..

    2. Why do they just fly around, since everyones seen them, as some people here state, why don't they just land?

    3. Why don't they communicate via TV, Radio or short wave ?

    4. If they are here why do they hide themselves from humans most of the time only to come out in some desserted area where few people live, why not just hover over New York, Moscow or Beijing China?

They are extremely small - remember small is beautiful - not much larger than a medium sized potato, which they also look very much like. The images of them as spindly grey creatures is a result of third rate, second hand projection equipment they brought with them.

Although they have mastered the art of interstellar voyaging and navigation, the techniques of landing have so far proved beyond their technical skills. This is why there are so many reports of crashed UFOs.

SETI specialists agree that the first communications from an alien race could be wholly unintelligble and largely indistinguishable from gibberish. Now, have you watched MTV?

Nobody said they didn't have a sense of humour.

They don't need to pee or eat and their cpu's are very small. As Phlog said, small is b-E-A-utifull.

    They don't want to land.

Because if they did - it would answer your question.

I was thinking it was some sort of gravitational field.. Like it creates it's own field around it, allowing it to move as it needs too no matter where it is (well almost). Of course all of this is hypothesis and I know nothing of aviation.

I was probed for years, and saw how they live. Okay, not really. I was just being sarcastic. :P
